Blue Mist (Eureka Edit) - Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy OST
Composition by imsobadatnicknames2.tumblr.com
Try listening to this on loop when the investigators are investigating, or preparing to investigate, in a relatively low stakes situation or environment. #ttrpgs
Hi everyone!
I'm looking for a #ttrpg actual play group to run an introductory scenario for my game, Undead Paradise.
Following the zombie apocalypse, the undead have reawakened with their memories and identities restored. Equipped with this new freedom, the zombies now explore the wastelands.
I'm pretty sure @anim-ttrpgs.bsky.social was single handedly responsible for six month run of (small) but steady sales for Unchained Mysteries.

1 Penetrative Damage might not sound like much, but in Eureka, Penetrative Damage is very difficult to heal from, and can cause permanent crippling injuries, so even the minimum Penetrative Damage weapon is not to be taken lightly.

This is a switchblade drawn by team artist @qsy.bsky.social for Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy, serving as an example of a weapon that deals 1 Penetrative Damage.

This is all off the top of my head, and I'm not REALLY a firearms expert, so somebody else may be able to give you a better and more specific explanation than i can.
"single" and "double" action in the context of revolvers means the number of things a trigger pull does.
In a single action, a trigger pull does a single thing, drops the hammer into the firing pin to shoot a bullet.
In a double action, a trigger pull can set the hammer AND drop the hammer
Weird fact, this model is qualified as an βassault weaponβ under many state laws.

The cover of Noctopolis: An Apocalypse Keys Mystery from Calenmir's RPGs, which is formatted as a comic book newspaper cover. The central image is a group shot of seven superheroes. They include a dark-cloaked figure with a red mask, a Nightcrawler lookalike boosting up a fellow hero using water, a Black woman in powered armor giving the cloaked hero bunny ears, a tan woman with glowing spear & shield wearing hoplite armor, a St. Bernard waving at the camera, a heavyset white guy in street clothes and dazzle paint, and a pink-skinned person in a blue jay onesie. The caption names them as Chiropter, Water Weaver, Hex Wrench, Light Skirmisher, Anymorph, Captain Facepuncher, and Blue Jay, respectively. The snippet of the "article" begins: Noctopolis, NERZ - After robots swarmed the business district, six Project Paragon heroes and one vigilante arrived on scene

The few times she leaves her house for more than groceries, she always manages to get caught up in something terrible."
She's the kind of girl to cram her tall self into the corner without anyone having to ask so she never takes up space just in case somebody else wanted to. She works a minimum-wage 9-5 and spends what little free time she has on the internet, reading books, watching anime, or programming.
I picture of a woman in a very loose-fitting lavender sweater. She has purple dyed hair with brown roots showing, brown eyes, light skin, and is wearing a black face mask with a stylized cat mouth and whiskers on it.

This gun doesnβt have its own category in the firearm categories section, but if I were to stat it it would have RoF 1, standard pistol range, and no Stopping Power, but still of course do a very dangerous amount of damage like any firearm in Eureka.

arguing with fucking Thomas Aquinas about Hell because of research for Death Bed
A βShotgun Pistolβ isnβt really any sort of real-world firearm terminology, we just needed something to call a gun like this to fit it into the way Eureka categorizes guns mechanically.
This is, like, the iconic βcrimeβ gun.

(correction, I meant USAS-12, not AA-12)
I donβt think an automatic shotgun has come into play in any Eureka game Iβm aware of, even though theyβd probably be the most effective option against monsters like vampires and wolfmen, not that vampires and wolfmen are realistically much more likely to be encountered than an automatic shotgun.
Automatic shotguns are uncommon and prone to jams in real life because the typical mechanisms that make automatic weapons function dont work as well with shotgun shells as they do regular bullets, but that doesnt mean youd want to have one pointed anywhere near you in either real life or Eureka

Before i continue this conversation, i just want to make sure. Am I talking to a real person here behind this account?
Thatβs a simplified summary of it, isnβt the ONLY theme explored by the playable paranormal monsters, but yβknow, bluesky character limit.
Anyway the PCs in this game solve mysteries in a modern setting and sometimes the villain OR protagonist might be something spooky.
Eureka asserts even someone whose continued life relies on taking indefinitely from others still has as much right to live as somebody who βcontributes,β and people should not be valued based on how much blood sweat and tears are required to keep them alive, even if they never repay that sacrifice
This is important because thematically, Eureka uses these paranormal elements to explore certain topics, such as disability. A vampire, for instance, is a person who has to subsist off the painful extraction of human blood from others, which is something a lot of disabled people identify with.
