Not skits. It was developed by a different development team. None of the skits are story line related they are all achievement based.
What was cut was the voice acting from the second half of the game.

No currently released English language version of Tales of Phantasia is decent. Though more of an acquired taste, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World is a solid Tales side story. What happens when you cross Tales Of and Pokémon? Go for it!
It does only trigger when you go there before you are supposed to. We love some of these hidden skits through out the Tales Of series 🥰

Great classic, the Remaster isn’t very… remastered though. Suffers for being a bit of a cash grab by @bandainamcousa.bsky.social
Significant load times and English VO is not remastered (skits have no VO at all) - otherwise a fantastic classic.
And we will be happy to have it! Though we honestly dream of PS2 Tales of Destiny getting an official release and a Tales of Phantasia HD-2D remaster (like SE did for Dragon Quest)
