Next month's horror book club is Pam Kowolski is a Monster! By Sarah Langan. So, I got some other books, including Bottling His Ghosts by @pippinacious.bsky.social and Errant Roots by @sonorataylor.bsky.social, at RDSPress while I was at it. Long live Women in Horror, all year, but this month, too.
Congrats!
Cover of She Isn't Herself Tonight by Hailey Piper, art by Caroline Johnson, depicting a woman caught between neon lights, her face fracturing into reflections of itself. Beneath the title is a quote from Rachel Harrison calling the novel "Blissfully twisted and genuinely heartfelt."
Cover reveal day!
I'm thrilled to announce my new novel coming from @sagapressbooks.bsky.social, SHE ISN'T HERSELF TONIGHT

My husband and I saw this along with all the other animated shorts this past weekend and loved it. It's an incredibly tough race this year -- I honestly can't pick a favorite.
Whenever I saw Christians or the church committing atrocious acts, I kept saying over and over "Real Christianity isn't like that." After a while I realized it is exactly like that, and that it's actually *me* that's not like that. So why would I identify as something I'm not?
He's awesome!
βIn Passing Glance, Sonora Taylor reimagines the cabin-in-the-woods trope and gives us something fresh and new. Youβll never look at that eccentric house that every city has the same way ever again.β

A digital simulation of a work and weathered two color relief print on toned paper. A black goat with big horns curving back in a somewhat exaggerated running or prancing pose is turning his head to look back over his shoulder. There is a pole topped with a small inverted cross crooked in one of his front legs and attached to the pole, streaming over the goat, is a red banner bearing some crusty looking blackletter script reading βMaybe it will happen todayβ

We saw THE BRIDE! today and it was very good. Weird, but good weird. Violent and messy in ways that mostly worked. I loved Annette Benning as the scientist. Only distracting thing for me was that Buckleyβs Mary Shelley sounded like Timeless Toni Storm.

I'm especially mad about the horrors of white Christian Nationalism today, so would love it if more people read Tradwife and got (constructively) angry with me
