When I did the first live show, I wanted to discuss what The Beatles were doing on one particular date from 1960-1969. Phoned Mark - armed with my precious research - and he immediately knew! Where they were, what they were doing - as well as incredible info I’d never encountered. Incomparable!
We also watched it tonight (with biryani accompaniment)
The detail is obviously beyond compare - but Mark’s real genius is his ability to retain a captive audience for two hours… with NO NOTES!
Yes, I definitely remember it at the time. Pre-internet, I can’t remember how it spread… maybe NME/Melody Maker?

I’m fully expecting the inevitable, “I preferred the other stuff” reviews, but this is so much fun. And that’s where indie pods win - celebs bank on hits/numbers/ads etc, but because the focus is on money they miss out on all the opportunities to chat with likeminded people.
Launching a new podcast next year (not a Beatles one), just realising this is both the best/worst time to attempt something so foolish.
Then you think… Post-Beatles Macca quietly touring universities. How invigorating was that!
