I don't hate open-frame bookcases - we got five open-frame things to line a wall, and the fact that there were no edges means the continuous shelves can hold more books! But yeah, needs more shelves, less statement.

I mean, in fairness, I still haven't seen the return of hypercolour π
Very yes. We have five different boxes of bandaid-type things. (And yet the most useful for small-child fingers seem to have already been retired by J&J, unhelpfully.)
I'm so glad you're home but oh god
OH MY FUCKING GOD. All your birthdays are belong to us. π±
Oh damn, that sucks. And the lack of GF food available is absolutely appalling!
Great list! I particularly agree on the Vanished Queen - I was so impressed with it, despite some wobbles. I keep hoping to see more books from Lisbeth Campbell.
After a month of buildup, may I present...
The Queersar not an award 2020!
10 (+1) great queer SFF novels.
V good year for queer SFF; I found it *really* hard to narrow down to 10. But happy with what's on here & more convinced there *is* a gap in the award landscape for books like these.
My in-laws hate and fear flatpack and I straight up do not understand it
Listen to my cousin. Deadloch is on Amazon prime in the US. I would also add, in terms of giving you context, itβs kinda Parks and Recreation meets Broadchurch, with just a ton of messy queers. NB: season two is coming soon and they added to a Hemsworth & crocs ππ»π¦πΊπ₯π
Flatpack success. I earned this guy! (Loveshack amber. I love every beer from these guys that I've tried, which admittedly is only this and the brown. But they're both great!)
We already unpackaged the vacuum-sealed mattress which was, frankly, Hilarious
It's flatpack day! π₯³ Putting together the kid's new desk bunk. I've described it as Lego for grown-ups, which isn't correct as Lego is for grown-ups already, but it's still fun! And then you can sleep in it!
I was playing Pharaoh again just last week π
I full-on Audrey-Two'd out after that test. "FEED ME, SEYMOUR." (Then again, I also fainted in the chair after they gave me the sugar stuff. I have weird blood-sugar shenanigans but fortunately not the sort they worry about.)
(The answers are: Rammstein - Links 2 3 4, or Battles - Atlas. Though possibly the synthesis of both states and therefore the ur-answer is: Muse - Hyper Music.)
I was going to say that sounds highly suspicious but honestly every communist, or at least socialist, I've ever met wouldn't shut up about it so maybe not
hmm, am I getting angry, or joyous? Is this combatative/competitive energy, or doing-my-best energy?
I can't keep up - the reds are under the bed again?
HECK YES. I have seen Pirates at allllll levels of production and competence and honestly some of the church-hall-community-group productions had the BEST energy.
Oh man, I have so many? π I've become such a picky, disgruntled reader in the last five years, and my reading list is scattered with DNFs where my notes contain some variant of "I can tell this is doing its thing really well, but I do not want to read that thing."
I got to see Carolina Eyck perform with a chamber orchestra last year, and she was FANTASTIC. Musically interesting, and just a delightful performer. She is so very enthusiastic about her instrument and her journey with it.

The letter M contains an image of an Indigenous adventurer with a snake and a wooden walking stick, viewing a futuristic city with flying transport vehicles. The letters EAN contain an image of an Indigenous woman with long, curly hair, viewing the planets, stars, and constellations. The letters JIN contain an image of an Indigenous Elder in a canvas jacket wearing an Outback hat accompanied by three stylistic dingoes in a lush green Australian bush / forest. The snake's multi-coloured body weaves through the images from the M to the last N. Such fangs! So fierce! π
I love your pathetic messes. I do not accept that this is a me problem--no, I embrace it whole-heartedly!
Fast bowlers tend to knee injury because of the slamming run-up. Spin bowlers tend to wrist and finger injury due to twisting. Both get shoulder injuries. Almost like doing anything that repetitively isn't good!
In T20 cricket, a single bowler is only allowed to bowl a few overs - I think 4 or 5 - in the whole game. And bowlers alternate, so he gets a rest between overs.
Nope. 20 overs, 6 balls* per over
* legal deliveries, so sometimes if a bowler is having an off day he might have to bowl 7 or more times to get his 6 balls
My kid is doing such a great job of packing up her room! Except two of the books she's packed into boxes are library books that need to go back today... π
Basically, yes. But in T20 cricket, an innings is 20 overs. So this is more like 10 minutes of extra time in a soccer match.
