I remember during the initial aftermath of hurricane Katrina, Jack Cafferty was on CNN and said something along the lies of, “Does it bother anyone that the same people running two wars can’f get clean water into a major American city.”

Kinda have that same feeling now.

Debut of my current band project/collaborative venture. Though I handled all the instruments in the studio, live it's meant to be a revolving cast of folks. If you like windswept post punk, orchestral post rock, wall of sound shoegaze then it might go down like a treat.

Wow we're doing the "your random town is on the frontline of the terror war" again? The 2000s really are back

Meta has a history of torturing their moderators and providing NOTHING in the way of mental health care. How do I know? Because I used to be a moderator for Meta and I got a $3,500 settlement for the PTSD they gave me.

When we tried to unionize, they moved their moderation to the Philippines.

Performative posting instead of reading. Trope lists. Trope emoticon lists. Blurb reveals. Cover reveals. Author as bestest best friend. Let's watch the author type videos.

It must be destroyed. We must let a new world climb out of the bloody afterbirth.

Jesse Singal proving that anti-trans extremism is just like creationism. This is the sort of thing creationists do all the time. They accuse the experts of being biased because they have “a professional stake”

I've always observed that apocalyptic narratives from Evangelicals is a socially acceptable form of suicidal ideation. Acting out on one's despair is a grave and mortal sin (privately at that): but projecting it out on to the world at large turns a fear that there is no future into catharsis.

The "AI denialists" are the people who are *still* somehow trying to push this garbage into every corner of existence, despite its drastic flaws.

Nobody wants your scam. Stochastic mimicry is not intelligence. It cannot reason. It cannot create. It's an excuse to gut industries for short-term gains

Quarterly reminder that your track does not need to reach an arbitrary “experimental” threshold in order to be considered for @argrecnetlabel.bsky.social compilation. As long as you follow the guidelines and aren’t a mug, we will probably accept it. Speaking of, label update coming soon.

screenshot of an old tweet from “liv” @/ayohangela

we see a scene from the film Harold and Maude, 1971, where Maude (Ruth Gordon) is driving a car and Harold (Bud Cort) is in the passenger seat. both are smiling, turning to look and someone off camera. the OP has captioned this:

harold: I've lost the will to live 💀⚰️🪦

Oh hey, it's that thing where me and @dsherrick.bsky.social bow an electric upright bass and guitar respectively and I do my bad Scott Walker impression. We'll be playing semi new material in support of atmospheric sax player Keith Wecker making his way on a tour.

When you buy into the idea that "porn is evil" then anything deemed porn becomes evil.

We are so afraid of sex in this country that it is effectively a tool to control the masses.

This is (part of) why sex education is so important. Sex should not be some kind of boogeyman.

A top shelf single from the Banshees's sovereign musical phase? I wasn't aware morale was lacking, but sure I'll take it.

Kash Patel & JD Vance's travel expenses aren't going to pay for themselves. But in all seriousness, it's a scum fuck move. Something tells me it's retaliation for Ilhan Omar's comments during last night's SOTU.

Some very short documentation from last night's ad-hoc performance for the 34th iteration of S.T.A.T.I.C featuring myself on echoplex guitar, Sean Yeager on bass, and local percussion polymath Troy Kunkler on drums.

The presence of 'A Walk Across The Rooftops' by The Blue Nile haunts 'Songs From The Big Chair' and it's impossible for me not to hear it's lush influence (evidently Curt Smith was in it's thrall.) The attention detail, the intricate arrangements, the layered hooks...
