I just don’t get the mind that sees game companies willingly dropping talent because they won’t even humor talking to the union (let alone signing a contract) and chooses to blame the union for it.

In my book, a company that doesn’t value the talent is the one in the wrong.

Did a double take when I saw this email.

For what this means, it's basically that the client began the process to make it a union game, alerting its cast that it would be union, but then did not actually complete the process to do so.

These notices can be rescinded should everything be fixed.

100% Jumpscares with build up are fine imo, because that's the point of them. But it's not like we need only them exactly to release tension after it reaches its peak, plenty of other ways of going about it.
