i think something minor that could allow for change is maybe making the enchantment system less based on grinding? maybe both making a tool give back its experience on break and maybe you losing all your experience on death could balance enchanting back
maybe the solution is to make enchanting less tool based, and giving the experience back to the user once it breaks? anything that makes the tool breaking less of a punishment and more of a sign to use something else

my philosophy with repairing if itβs a 3 or 4/10 system is just to add more interesting systems on top, say exploration/transport. add mechanics to elytra to de-incentivise long travel. make elytra have super short durability to incentivise travelling round ur base but not the entire world
the 1st minecraft feature in a long time to be above 9/10 only problem is loot
it could be like cleaving from cts 2.0, u can rclick to throw axe but u lose durability based on your hit
and loot could be enchants, banner patterns, discs, ect but some cool ones like weapons and new blocks with cool behaviours. and a bucket of shimmer
the bloomsquid, a crystallised squid that shoots lasers and its ink crystallising blocks and entities. once you are crystallised your hearts become fragile not healing up until the effect wares out so try and kill it. another is the deeper like before and another new one could be the illousioner 6/?
the area inside could be any sort of area across the game but looks corrupted but 4 void terminals are scattered across the wasteland. open it for a new random mob to get included in the list of spawning mobs there and a debuff similar to mob enchants. unique mobs could spawn there like 5/?

have new mobs like the deeper, a creeper that collapses instead of exploding bringing all mobs into the interspace, the place between teleportations. you have 30 seconds to exit the area before you are crushed with all your items (they can show up later in a wandering trader trade) 2/3
to prolong progression with a fun new mechanic, add a map in the end city to the hollowed abyss, a mining settlement in the overworld that went too far down and found the creatures of the void. what is in it isnβt important but iβll somewhat explain the contents of the structure 1/3
is the sculk at least somewhat linked to the void; it shares a similar texture to the void blocks in end portals and has older concepts with that shader
creepers just want hugs, enderman are introverts, wardens hate noise and wandering traders actually help people wanting specific flowers and items
