Exactly right: “We’re long past the point at which there are neutral legal principles that can be deployed to persuasively reconcile all of the Court’s behavior … It makes the Court at least look like what so many regularly accuse it of being: a font of partisan political power, and not much more.”
Tonight, in an unsigned order on its shadow docket, the Supreme Court stepped in to save a Republican congressional seat in New York.
The Court is a tool of the Republican Party. It must be reformed (term limits, expansion, enforceable code of ethics, and more). #scotus
Saddam Hussein was a really bad guy too. He didn’t deserve to live. But his overthrow in April 2003 wasn’t the end of the Iraq War — only the beginning.
He’s lost his mind. Like Trump, Sen. Fetterman thinks war is a comic book — a fun story of good versus evil.
But in real life, killing one bad guy can trigger a prolonged regional war, and geopolitical instability, that endangers American lives, kills thousands and turns millions into refugees.
The entire Democratic strategy debate — "moderate" or move left? fight or compromise? — is based on a misreading of data. Voters don't think Dems are too progressive; they think Dems are weak. The actual math on what to do about this isn't even close!

If Democrats regain power in 2029, expanding the Supreme Court may be the only way to quickly restore balance to the court and stop America’s authoritarian decline. It can’t be dismissed out of hand.
This absurdity was obvious even in 2016.
Republicans blocked Obama from filling Scalia’s vacant seat. Even John McCain said they should refuse to fill it if Clinton won, effectively reverse court-packing.
That same year, Republicans packed the state courts in Arizona and Georgia. Now it’s Utah too
