What I always hear: โWe canโt afford to pay our workers more than $15 an hour.โ
What I never hear: โWe canโt afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.โ
Funny how that works.

It's Solzhenitsyn's Stalin story come to life: the first person to stop applauding ended up in the gulag. The lesson then, as now โ never be the first to stop clapping.
Spring was in the air, almost 20C, the window above my art table was wide open, and this happened. Mixed media in my studio includes the occasional bit of fur.
A purpose of the war on Iran might well be to provoke a terrorist attack inside the United States, thereby justifying the need to โfederalizeโ elections. We must anticipate it, with sadness and resolution, and not be surprised, if it happens.

Gallego: "They're going and racially profiling people and rounding up Americans until they can prove their citizenship. That money came from kicking millions and millions of Americans off Medicaid. It was the same bill. They cut Medicaid to expand ICE."

Update! It's seems to have begun here now...according to a friend it started 2 hours ago in Pubnico, so took 2 hrs from there to Bwater.
Thanks for the heads up. Just read from some Mainers that they haven't had any yet, maybe it moved more offshore. We've been having the tiniest flurries off and on but nothing g really although it has been a bit gusty for a while. Good luck with the wind so close to the sea.
Only the occasional, tiny flurry in Bridgewater. And I just read a post from Maine where commenters said snow hasn't shown up yet as of 10:15 eastern except in southern ME.

More pix, the calm before the snowpocalypse calls for a beach walk. Nor'easter forecast here on the south shore of NS seems to be anywhere from 25-50 cms, with blowing and drifting tomorrow. Woot. We already have a snowbank beside our skinny driveway that is a bit high to throw snow onto.
I forgotten point out my snow cat sculpture looking in the window from our deck in the background behind the cat on the cat tree.
Handsome grey and white cat with a moustache lounges on a plush burgundy sofa, front paws turned in, back legs out to one side, staring directly at the camera.
Large white and grey cat sound asleep on top of a cat tree, his front arm dangling down in front, rear legs hanging off on the right side and his cheek resting on the adjacent cat tree to the left.
View from above of large white and grey cat stretched out on a wicker chair, belly up, right leg hanging off the front, head tilted back, front paws curled.
Haven't been here much lately, getting enough news on FB to saturate me with despair. But thought maybe you'd enjoy seeing the new cat we got in Dec. to keep our 2nd cat company because the first cat is a spicy girl and has little patience for boyz, esp the cat we got for her. If only he'd relax...
Strikes in Iran could happen at any moment, but what happens next is alarming. I break this all down, and more, in my Weekend Update on Substack:

You can joke about Pam Bondiโs ridiculous unprofessionalism all you want, but Iโm deeply shocked by it: She acts as if she fears absolutely no consequences, convinced that there will be no more political power transfers. โ This should shake everyone to their core.
Iโve watched a lot of congressional hearings over the last 40 years. This performance by Bondi is the single most unprofessional, non-responsive, reprehensible and obnoxious I have ever seen from any witness who has testified before any committee of either chamber.
Agree.
You think she'll be honest in her testimony??
