So what was the point of getting Greenland again? Trump's problem is that he thinks the rest of the world is as stupid and as short-term memoried as his braindead cult. He contradicts himself hourly. Evil, stupid, vain, greedy, with no principles at all.

That's not really an issue, of course Russia isn't going to attack the U.S. But they can use this new doctrine to claim Belarus, invade Georgia and Moldova, and to try to move their borders around Romania, Poland, Lithuania, etc.

Probably just going to dip into the Heritage Foundation headquarters to be told what to say, think and do. You don't think Poilievre comes up with those sweet three-word slogans himself?

Alberta and other provinces were also going off on how much LNG we're about to sell, and those pipelines and plants were also approved by Trudeau.

There are times when more division and party politics are not helpful and it's more important to be part of the solution than to be a critic. This is one of those times. Credit to those few MPs who realized it.

I wonder if he made any financial moves in the last few days. Shit like this moves markets and somebody profits. This isn't the first case of a Trump insider manipulating the market to and it won't be the last.

So basically every country will need to give Russian citizens living there a choice - renounce their passports or GTFO. No dual Russian citizens anywhere that borders on Russia.

Media is probably the main suspect, but the reality is that America is a fear factory with very little job security, social security, benefits if you lose your job or insurance, and an insane wealth divide. It's made society competitive rather than cooperative. Empathy is considered a weakness.

This seems made up, but I love how CBS has to mention that the story was reported by ABC so people don't automatically dismiss it as propaganda. Way to go Summers, you've ruined the credibility of 98-year-old CBS news in just six months.

They've had five years to prove the 2020 election was stolen and there's no proof - just a few oddball cases of people who cheated and got caught, mostly voting for Trump.

They're borrowing the money from the value of their overinflated shares to prop up housing values and make it harder for people to buy into the market, which is another stake through the heart of the middle class. Nobody will get to own any more, everyone will rent from billionaires and like it.

You get small swings here and there to give the illusion of movement but it's never very far or for very long. Meanwhile hedge funds that were given billions to buy the market and prop it up after 2008 have turned to investing in housing. Black Rock just announced they're buying 42K more homes.

That's why pointing to the Dow these days is stupid, it's proof of nothing. It's just another "too big to fail" institution propped up by government money and monopolies. The valuations for so many companies, like Tesla, is so far removed from actual performance that it's a joke.

The market is bullshit. Something like 75% of all shares are held by billionaires, hedge funds, institutional investors like banks, pension plans, etc. who don't spook and never sell for a loss. The other 25% is held by retail investors who buy and sell, which isn't enough to move the market.

If it were a just or necessary war then it would be a partisan issue with one party in favor and one party opposed.

For everyone saying that most of these costs were justified, this kind of picking over receipts and nailing your political opponents with line items is very much a Republican tradition - being outraged over out of context budget items is how they pretend to be the party of fiscal responsibility.

"There were children that needed blowing up and an environment to trash by setting oil infrastructure on fire. Oh, and we blew up a desalination plant that millions of people rely on for water. Can you believe that? People will drink polluted water and die. It's amazing what we can do these days."

The bottom line is Canadians need a real stake in these resource industries, it can't just be temporary jobs and exports.

We're always so focused on today's needs and emergencies, and do nothing for the future when the resources are gone or our needs are even greater. The sovereign funds can also invest in resource industries and companies.

One thing Carney and the provinces need to do as we're gearing up to sell resources to the world is create a sovereign wealth fund for Canada and all the provinces with a share of resource revenues going into both. The funds should be untouchable for 10 years and then only 50% can be spent.

It would be one thing if parties had any honour, but it's never about how the ruling party is actually doing for Canada, it's about how parties are doing in the polls. We need stability - no more confidence votes and fixed election dates.
