Drops of wisdom from @lovemysummer.bsky.social today at SCOLT!
@lovemysummer.bsky.social hitting the nail on the head in her session about high quality, scaffolded activities at #scolt25!
I am so excited to present at our annual SCOLT conference! Join me at 1:10pm on Saturday to learn new strategies for collaboration at any level! #langchat #scolt25
Hellooooo March! I canβt wait to host a workshop at CLTA, present at SCOLT in Nashville, and keynote at EMME! With a few pop ups in Spotsylvania VA, Ysleta TX, and Washington County MD, itβs a great month to fly around and talk about #7StepsWL!
#worldlanguage #teachers, this one is for you! Hereβs a virtual vision board activity with ideas to scaffold for novices and intermediates! A great way to ease back into the school routine (and practice the future tense).

I love this idea!! We learn best from each other and we create community by supporting one another. This does both!
YES. I like to create intentional Can Do statements that correlate to AP tasks right away from Level 1. Theyβre simple, but ALL students will benefit from learning to write an email or state their opinion (with evidence when appropriate), not just those destined for AP!
Love this! The success of a student is cumulative work - it takes a village and we all need to be appreciated and valued for our role in it!
I have seen this too. In the curriculum plans Iβve written, I intentionally create βspiraling backβ Can Do statements and guidelines with language chunks and vocab that theyβve previously learned to make connections. Hoping this helps it to not be experienced in a silo.
Hey #langchat community! Iβm working with a few districts to develop new curriculum centered around performance tasks aligned to AP themes. Question for yall: What is one piece of advice youβd give a supervisor of a world lang dept going through this transition? What works/doesnβt work?
Happy to be here #langchat friends. Feels like a breath of fresh air.
Yay!! So happy our community is here!!
