I’m not sure there’s anything more discombobulating for people in Scotland than leaving a building and it being hotter outside than inside.

This is high art
Treating myself to some cake in the @ScotParl cafe after a mammoth evidence session with @SP_Economy on skills in Scotland. @scotparl.bsky.social
Yeah. Sadly for disabled people most voters think that having an accident or long term condition that leaves them/partner/child disabled and unable to work won’t happen to them. That happens to other, less worthy people 🙄 And politicians know this. So on and on it goes.
This power grab is unprecedented, unbounded, and unconstitutional.
Reminded this evening- I was at a department store looking for a bra and this 60 ish year old guy came up to me. I braced in dread, but really softly he asked, “Can I ask you for some help? My wife just had a mastectomy and I want to get her something that will make her feel pretty but is soft.”
A mostly blank page with the words Strong and Free, from the English version of the Canadian national anthem ) Below the fold of this newspaper sheet , in smaller type, news and editorial references to the trade war
This is the first page of this morning’s edition of the Globe and Mail (arguably the English Canadian paper of record)
I don’t remember seeing anything like this before
We were lucky and he made it through (though we very nearly lost him). He was left with an ABI but relatively mild in comparison to what doctors expected 🤞
It’s #WorldEncephalitisDay 🎈Nearly ten years since we almost lost our youngest son, then 5, to this awful illness. #Red4WED
Ok so lots of voters like straight talking, they bake-in click-bait sound bites and it doesn’t really alarm them, in fact they like the entertainment, but surely there must come a point when they recognise full-on derangement in their leaders and it starts to worry them?
Lovely warm cup of coffee in the @ScotParl before meetings with MSP today. @scotparl.bsky.social
Breath of fresh air this morning. View from Alloa town centre - the hills are looking gorgeous, with sunlight hitting some fresh snow amidst some low misty clouds.
Not ideal.
In the face of a terrible tragedy, pointing to a vulnerable group of people (who have absolutely nothing to do with the issue) as scapegoats to blame is plumbing the depths of despicable leadership.
Depends on what you fancy I guess - on Apple SH is prob the best but I enjoyed the fluff of the Morning Show, Ted Lasso is heartwarming (I’m very much in the market for these two categories) also enjoyed Bad Sisters (took me couple of episodes to get into it).
It’s glorious isn’t it? 📺
The era of government of, by, and for the billionaires has begun
The launch of a new ferry in Scotland is a good opportunity for news to feature lifeline service issues for island communities….but I’m afraid @BBCScotlandNews have lost their minds if they think it justifies an extended live edition of #ReportingScotland.
Dear universe, I really do have enough to deal with on a Monday morning without the added thrill of a power cut at peak breakfast-getting ready time and all that entailed.
Carers didn’t turn up this morning. Looks like for the 2nd time post-Covid we’ll have to find a new provider. Same as last time - 3rd sector org, lack of staff, illness and the stress on managers leads to collapse of service. On and on it goes. #socialcare
Hahaha - lovely ☺️ Enjoy your steak pie - having ours in t-minus 30 mins…
Christmas baking 🎄🍰
Queens Court @ Stirling University looking gorgeous at Christmas 🎄
I didn’t think I could love squirrels more but…..🥐🐿️
This is genuinely disastrous for a sector that’s already completely broken and without which we can neither solve problems in NHS nor get more people back to work.
Christmas concert time 🎶🎄
Freezing cold day. Lots of broken, frosted strands of cobwebs dangling from all the signs and lights caught my eye - as if silly string has been sprayed all over 🕸️
L off to the S6 Christmas formal 🎄❤️
Lovely to catch up with the @fsbscotland.bsky.social team tonight at a reception in @scotparl.bsky.social celebrating 50 years of FSB 🥳 Having been around for the 30th anniversary (I know 😳) it’s amazing to see how far the organisation has come. Always #TeamSmallBusiness 💪
