I'm so excited to see what you come up with!
I can't wait to work on this.
Today for Self-Promotion Mondays (that's not really a thing, I just made it up), here's Duo Manik' of Mexico performing my piece for viola and piano, "Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance."

My time immersed in music therapy has been a blessing, and I am happy for the time spent in that endeavor. But I decided when I moved to Delaware that it was time to move on. I deeply miss the life of the mind, academic culture, teaching, writing, and learning.
So, I did a thing.
There are any number of reasons this could go south (i.e., because of ever changing life circumstances), but for the time being, I'm optimistic. I applied to, and was accepted by, the University of Maryland PhD program in music theory.
Thank you so much!!!
I hear you. To me the great challenge of setting Dickinson is resisting the sing-song meter that her poetry invites. (The famous adage about Gilligan's Island or The Yellow Rose of Texas.) I've set some DIckinson in my life but I don't feel a great urge to revisit her.
Performed here by the sadly defunct Cordova Quartet.
Wow, I seem to have picked up a lot of new followers! Thanks and welcome!
I thought I'd take this opportunity, then, to do a little self-promotion. Here's my string quartet "Penumbra," which is the title track of my most recent album.

Sure, Jan.
Hello! I haven't dumped FB... yet.
Happy New Year! My resolution, in as much as I have one, is to force myself to do a little more self-promotion. So here is some of my music! Enjoy!

If you're a good liberal/progressive/whatever and you're disappointed, I get it. But Hunter Biden has been unfairly persecuted in the first place, and I don't begrudge Joe Biden a bit.
Regarding the Hunter pardon, it seems to me that Pres. Biden is all out of F's to give.
I know I am.
Hunter got dealt a bad hand and was unfairly targeted by MAGA. There's no "but" after that for me.
Ugh. I feel your pain.
My liberal heart bleeds for them.
Why do all the people saying this act like we’ve never spent time around conservatives? I grew up with them. The maga dipshits have been around for almost a decade. Musk has owned twitter for years. Nothing good came out of being around them and I don’t need to constantly see their dumb opinions.
The pundits are uniformly wrong. Of course it's the racism.
So…..I suppose that’s all she’s got. Nothing else to offer as a public servant.
Meanwhile…most of humanity has used both-sex bathrooms. Routinely. (Airplanes. Restaurants. Workplaces. Dorms)
But whatever.
Remember that libraries are proof that not every goddamned thing needs to be “for profit.”
People say "retreating into a bubble" like it's a bad thing.
This election result isn't about Dem messaging.
Kamala Harris and Tim Walz formed a balanced ticket filled with character, intellect, and genuine love for this country, and they delivered their vision beautifully and eloquently.

That's not mutually exclusive with racism and misogyny.
Exactly.
Right? It is to laugh.
Yeah. You're the bigot. Now you're getting it.

Thanks for posting, Daly. I've met McBride and enthusiastically voted for her. She's not going to put up with crap for too long.
