A graphic promoting the CPD session. At the top right is says 'Primary Teacher CPD' in gold, then it says 'rocks, fossils ad soils with the British Geological Survey' in white. To the right are images of a fossil, a rock, Arthur's Seat and the Natural History museum, in gold roundels.
This March we're holding another Primary Teacher CPD session at our Nottinghamshire HQ.
The free session will guide you through everything you need to know to teach rocks, fossils and soils to your KS2 classes.
Places are limited so book early!

Portrait of Mary Anning in a green cloak and straw bonnet tied with a red ribbon, and holding a hammer. Below, an extract from a newspaper: 'Lyme Regis, Jan. 17. - 'Miss Anning has again made a discovery of a grand fossil animal. We shall perhaps be able in our next to give an account of the species and appearance of it. Geologists are now very numerous: perhaps much more than at any former period'.
News from Lyme Regis, 17 January 1831: 'Miss Anning has again made a discovery of a grand fossil animal ... Geologists are now very numerous: perhaps much more than at any former period'. Then at the height of her fame, #MaryAnning and her discoveries attracted droves of fossil collectors to Lyme.

What a superb day yesterday. As part of @originalgcg.bsky.social annual seminar, I went walking in the footprints of giants - mainly Iguanadonts. Between Pett Level beach & Fairlight Cove, I observed dinosaur trackways, tail marks, bone beds, fossil wood and ripples βοΈπͺ¨π¦ @derbyuni.bsky.social
