It's almost like language changes over time and context has a temporal element or something.

Same goal. This time of year (in Ohio...we're a bit out from mow season), I'm digging out every clump that looks like it is even thinking about growing.

I am (not in Minnesota) discovering the down side of compost tumbler: the hatch freezes shut.

Definitely. No one tell my cats.

Side note: given the dimensions, I think "hours of entertainment" might be optimistic. By my math, it holds about 2 tablespoons of birdseed.
If you want your own nutsack squirrel feeder, the catalog is Collections Etc, and they're currently on clearance for even less than the catalog price.

The feeder is white in the shape of either an abstract finchlike bird hanging from a screw hole where a cloaca would be, or a scrotum full of millet.

Did I just order a "minimalistic yet beautiful bird feeder" because the catalog picture makes it look like a scrotum?
Of course not. I ordered 3 of them.

I will in the future (TBD) require a road trip to OR. Or at least a fly in and sort out estate with a side quest to the southern Oregon coast for Reasons.
I've lived in NE, and recall it being severely meh.

Can we give everyone on this panel a body part whose presence causes them constant overwhelming distress and causes people to interact with them in a way antithetical to their self-perception, then codify into law that they must "appreciate" this body part and the interaction they get because of it?

Has it not occurred to any of these men to go to their local Florsheim retailer and get an identical pair that fits properly?

Once again validated that my dayjob niche is "Person who smacks a problem like a piΓ±ata until a solution falls out." Luckily, dayjob values this niche and understands that I _will_ click that button.

The cat who is usually most aloof rubbed my ankles repeatedly while I was washing dishes, then when I picked her up she snuggled down and started purring.

High four (at a respectful distance) to Spicy Kitty! That is some real personal growth there. And I bet she feels better without the yucky mat or the excess chonkiness.

Lighting a candle for both the vet and Spicy Kitty. And the human who has to get her into a carrier.

I don't know what it is about the first nice springlike days that awakens in me a primal need to dig up my yard. So far I have cleared random shrubbery (mostly honeysuckle and grapevine, I think) from my future asparagus bed and am attacking the grass at random.

In the distance between those, you could fit the "butt dial"/"booty call" gap with room to spare.

My workplace has even classified yarn as a mental health supply for purposes of our wellness allowance (they reimburse up to $400/year for fitness/wellness purchases).

A full complement of the greats? I had 3* when I was born...one died when I was 3, but I had 2 living great-grandmas into my early 20s. One managed to meet her great-great grandbaby when my 1st nibling was born.
*maybe up to 5. One set was estranged, so idk when they died or if they knew I exist.

So if one keeps them short, that 15' spacing can go out the window?

Yes, please! I am trying to figure out how to get my entire edible plant wishlist onto my (pause for math and unit conversions) 0.15 acre patch of city, while still allowing for my cohabitants to have their big Halloween display.

The situation there is suss AF. There was an arson fire to a concrete wall between the bookstore and a parking garage. Who arsonifies CONCRETE?!? And the building is 100 years old and they just now noticed it only has one stairwell?

City of Dayton nuisance notice shuts down Rabbit Hole Books and Lisse Beauty Bar DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- Rabbit Hole Books and Lisse Beauty Bar closed after public nuisance notification from the City of Dayton.

The back of my head was on the news (that's me with my hair up in a bun behind the newsperson). Had to turn out to support local bookstore/third space. To answer the big questions: I was reading Special Deliverance by Clifford Simak, and yes I wore my SPF 50.

WHO WAS IN THE MEETING THAT DECIDED TO PUT ACTUAL RESOURCES INTO THIS?
They could have put resources into anything, and this is what they decided was the best use of time, money, labor, and materials. I just cannot with this.

Swapping out the winter air in the house. Another great thing about Old House Living: excellent cross-ventilation.
