It won the Wainwright 🙃 (also makes a link between Woolf writing about going mad & the author feeling... a bit grumpy)
Hmm, an award-winning work of nature writing (from 2023) speculating that Woolf might not have walked into the River Ouse had she just waited a few more weeks for spring. "Nature cure" at its most extreme.
The saddest, one-eyed, not-really-a-great-auk at Leeds Discovery Centre last week. The gold paint streaks on the beak to indicate ridges suggest a taxidermist giving up.

The “Touch Table” at Caerlaverock WWT is so fun & well done. Not sure my toddler was ready to understand skulls and skeletons but she liked the soft kingfisher’s wing.
