No imminent threat. No legal basis. Another illegal war dressed up as “security” and “democracy”.
CND condemns illegal attacks on Iran CND totally condemns the illegal military strikes by Israel and the US against Iran. Progress was being made on a new nuclear deal. Oman’s Foreign Minister, one of the mediators between the US and Iran, made clear that Iran had agreed to degrade its current stockpiles of nuclear material to “the lowest level possible” and to “full and comprehensive verification” by the International Atomic Energy Agency. It's absolutely clear that the US had no intention of securing a new deal and is intent on destroying the country to bring about regime change
These illegal attacks by the US and Israel risk engulfing the entire Middle East in a devastating war, threatening the lives of hundreds of millions of people. Iran has already retaliated with attacks on Israel, US Navy fleet in Bahrain, and US bases in Kuwait, UAE, and Qatar. The British government must condemn these illegal attacks - and rule out the use of Diego Garcia. CND is protesting today at RAF Marham. We are also supporting an emergency demonstration in Downing Street from 3:30pm. Supporters and local groups are encouraged to organise protests in their own communities this evening.

US authorities must immediately release journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort. Journalism is not a crime. Reporting on protests is not a crime. Arresting journalists for their reporting is a clear example of an authoritarian practice.
It’s good to see that so many people are prepared to speak out and take action against Trump’s ICE stormtroopers, but is it too much to hope that their experience of fascism in the USA will encourage them to take similar action in support of the people of Gaza?
