Fun thing to think about very briefly: who currently has better lawyers, the United States or Nintendo
I've spoken to folks who are justifying this stuff in the same way they justify Israeli attacks on Gazans: "Did you know the Iranians hide weapons and soldiers in hospitals and schools?!?" It doesn't fucking matter. Targeting innocents is a war crime.
My hot take is that the battles over TDSB control are basically downstream from the fact that Toronto City Council forced rust belt budget problems on the TDSB by pricing out families with children through their policies.

Canada’s position remains clear: the Islamic Republic of Iran is the principal source of instability and terror throughout the Middle East, has one of the world’s worst human rights records, and must never be allowed to obtain or develop nuclear weapons.
Carney already has his statement out justifying another breach of international law by the US and Israel.
Israel, not Iran, is the principle source of instability in the region, given its expansionist tendencies and apartheid system, backed by a superpower that keeps starting destabilizing wars.
Back on Twitter, long before Musk bought it, when it was perceived as having a lib/left cast, journalists were always ticking users off because it wasn’t “real life”. Now it’s X, a far-right site, they tick us off because it’s “the commons” and apparently we’re missing real life by not being there?

My least popular (and most correct) view is that cars should be automatically limited to the local speed limit. Put the pedal to the floor and you still can't go over 25mph in a residential area.

I don't want to go full whataboutism but it's notable to me this group has only organized to oppose two apartments near King in Parkdale and didn't organize to support the 100% affordable rental building the United Church applied to build. Sort of gives away the game to me.
