As are we! Haven't played at the Dublin Castle for over twenty years!
As are we! Haven't played at the Dublin Castle for over twenty years!
You're Not Supposed To, live like it's 2006 all over again, from our 20th Anniversary show at the Fire Station in Sunderland last month.

We're conscious that we haven't been able to do very many shows for our 20th anniversary and a lot of you will have missed out on a chance to see us this month. Fortunately, we captured She Can Do What She Wants (Live at the Fire Station) in Sunderland. Watch the full vid here: youtu.be/7EfhhfiUCLA

Had a lovely chat with Huw Stevens on BBC Radio 6 - listen back here π www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...
Tune in to BBC 6Music shortly to hear me talking all things related to our 20th Anniversary debut album reissue, but also, inevitably, The Doors.
Itβs release day for the 20th anniversary expanded reissue of our self-titled debut album. I think we can be forgiven a rare moment to look back over our shoulders at 20 years of Field Music music. Find it at your local indie shop - fieldmusic.ffm.to/indies
The 20th anniversary expanded reissue of our debut album hits the shops this Friday (and it's only two and a half weeks until we head out to play all this old stuff live). Here's some high-grade nerdery to get you in the mood.
Forgot in all the 20 years of Field Music we had an album out only last year. To celebrate a year (and one week) of Limits of Language you can use the code NOLIMITS to get 25% off CD, LP, Download and last t-shirts and tea-towels on our shop.

"Impressively thorough". I rest my case m'lud.
π Extra mumbling, more mistakes. Sounds great (in a way)
If we ever ask people to pay to see us soundcheck, or act as if watching a soundcheck is a special treat, please give me a quick, but firm slap. SOUNDCHECKS ARE BORING.
All in, Field Music at the mercurys was quite the culture clash.
(Instead we spent that money hiring a pub function room round the corner where we could watch the show on TV with all of our London pals, including food and a bar tab)
When our album Plumb was on the #mercuryprize list in 2012, we were only allocated two seats at the ceremony. Additional seats cost Β£400+VAT iirc so, just to have Kev and Andrew, our actual band members, at the table with us would have cost more than the entire recording budget for the album.
I thought you might just be trying to stretch out the bidding process!
That is a tricky one but I think we'll be able to do it.
We are probably a bit overconfident about that one, judging from the lock-in session we've just posted.
Observational! I like it!
For better or worse, there's only one song from the first two albums we've ruled out for being too difficult to play. Can you guess which one?
It's only 4 weeks until we kick off our 20th Anniversary shows at @nathbrudenell.bsky.social and Islington Assembly Hall! I wonder if old David can remember what young David was playing?
So, I guess the @nytimes.com puzzle guy is a Big Star fan. Nice.
Rehearsal directive: Less baroque. More "be rock".
It's got a high ideas-per-minute score.
And if anyone has any idea what the chords are in the middle section of 17, I'll give you a biscuit.

On Sunday 26th October, we're hosting a Bandcamp Listening Party to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of our debut album. We'll be there in the chat, taking rubbish as per usual. Come join us! fieldmusic.bandcamp.com/merch/field-...

First Field Music album has SO MANY OOH OOH OOHS!
Try this (which has the Kind of Biue rhythm section) and maybe My Funny Valentine (which has Herbie Hancock, Tony Williams and Ron Carter).
