Sometimes I forget I'm near Mt Rainier until I go for a walk on a clear day and bam: stunning beauty when the mountain is out. I'm still not used to the scale of living near a giant mountain like this.

Honestly all the risk is the same whenever MP or SP. SP games get cancelled before they come out, studios close out of nowhere, layoffs to meet a bottom line, etc. Working on any type of game right now in general is risky.

My partner is exactly the type of 🇵🇷 that #BadBunny is talking about: who lost everything during hurricane Maria + left the island to start over in mainland US to pursue his dreams. It's SO difficult esp with the Latino hate + ICE raids targeting + kidnapping/harming any Latino folks off the streets.

And we live in a majority Black/Brown neighborhood with mostly families and kids. We worry for our neighbors, the families, the kids.

We take precautions to protect our house + when we (rarely now) go out. Every time I go on a walk, I bring a whistle. My partner carries around his passport AND ID when he leaves the house. I accompany him whenever possible just in case. We get groceries and other things delivered to reduce risk.

Every day, I'm terrified that my Latino partner (us citizen) will be snatched and disappeared, injured, or killed. That my neighbors will be taken. There's an ice detention center near us in Tacoma, WA and ice has been in our area for months now, but they've been escalating since January.

We're trying 😭
