For those who’ve followed the end of the Hereditary peer show, the House of Lords (Hereditary Peers) Bill has tonight passed its final stages in the @houseoflords.parliament.uk. As a result, the remaining 92 Hereditary peers will cease to be members of the Lords at the end of this current session.

My unpopular opinion:
Although the youth secure estate is appalling, and - like all custodial facilities - in dire need of reform, we definitely need ‘prisons’ (of some type) for children.
Numbers of children in custody have gone down, but the risk held in the community is extremely worrying.

The fire at Glasgow central station is utterly devastating. Shops, homes and our transport link to England are being wiped out.

This is illustrated by a picture of a dark amber cocktail, and by this one can infer the cocktail in the actual glass is the same.

A thing I like about rugby fandom is that (mostly) love of the game is bigger than love of any one side, and we like to see teams doing well, being exciting to watch, overturning the odds etc. almost as much as seeing ‘our’ team win.
