friends hosted a Celebration of Life for us last night, everyone brought us food and we had a toast and read poetry as a eulogy ❤️
AND we found our shared favorite movie on bluray half off 🥳

It's my partner's birthday today - I wish the week prior had been kinder to him. Walked around our local nature conservation center and took him out to our special date night spot. ❤️
She loved the window spot in the cat cafe next door, so we made sure to make that her spot here too when we adopted her ❤️
Brought the baby girl home today. Her given name was Kiko, "joyful child." My partner was still workshopping a possible rename as we got to know her better. Maybe Joan? Wynnie? She was so sweet and playful, and we loved her so much in such a short amount of time. ❤️

He passed away a few minutes ago. ❤️
Marius update: he's doing well with the feeding tube "meals" but is not showing much/any improvement. He's comfortable and getting plenty of rest right now. We got him some flowers and Greta's old blanket. ❤️

Prognosis is still not good, but he's home and as comfortable as can be. They saw some fluid in his belly on ultrasound and have him on the baby girl's leftover FIP medication just in case. Only time will tell now. ❤️
Had success last night and this morning feeding him with the tube without him barfing! He's back at the vet for another round of IV fluids and then we start increasing the food intake at home. ❤️❤️❤️

Vet just called and Marius is awake with the tube in! He did very well, they haven't fed him yet but will keep us posted, we'll be bringing him home tonight unless anything changes!!!!

sadly baby with FIP passed away this morning, Marius is hanging in there for now 🫂
old man is home for the night, hoping he'll eat on his own but nothing so far. back to the vet tomorrow to figure out next steps
There is a feline coronavirus, and FIP is a mutation of that - my understanding is that the FIP isn't something that can easily be contracted between cats, but the corona is. So if she brought the corona from the shelter, she could have passed it to Marius and then her's mutated into FIP
