I would like to see if I can find this wingback again, as I have seen a recent image posted with it still residing at the Salton Sea. Who knows how far it may have traveled in the decade since this was taken!
Talking about previous excursions, my mom brought up this image. This may have been where my interest in random, abandoned chairs may have begun.

At the time that I took this image, there were still skeletal fish littering the beaches, as can be seen in the foreground. During COVID, many were cleaned up off of the shorelines.
The landscape has (literally) changed this past decade. The shoreline has receded immensely. This little inlet is more of a tiny, dirty pond now. There is talk about opening up waterways into the "sea" as it is unknown how toxic the dust would be if more of the lakebed is exposed.
Just over a decade ago, I took my first trek to the Salton Sea. I have experienced the most beautiful sunsets there. (Cont...)

This image was taken last night during sunset.
On a side note, I am trying new editing methods for my landscape photos. It is a little tedious but more precise. Let me know if you are enjoying this more or the overall "dreamy" look of my previous landscape images.
It has an elevation gain of over 10,000' in about 7 miles, which is one of the largest in a small distance in the US. It resides atop the San Jacinto faultline, which created this spectacular mountain range millions of years ago. It is a prominent sight in both the Pass Area and Coachella Valley.
Standing with a peak elevation of 10,834 feet, Mt. San Jacinto is quite the formidable foe. (Continued...)

If you have the chance to visit a wildflower field in bloom, please remember that while walking through the flowers may be enjoyable to you, but it not only diminishes the experience for other visitors, it kills the flowers and future seedlings.
I caught wind of it blooming early this past January and was lucky enough to have the scenery to myself and another respectful photographer that stayed off the wildflowers.
I first visited a couple of years ago when I was searching for Desert Lilies. The amount of people in and around the field made it impossible to enjoy the beauty, and I was not even there on a weekend.
This area of Henderson Canyon during a bloom is arguably the most popular attraction of Anza-Borrego State Park. (continued...)
