Consider the number of times Bugs Bunny fooled humans in to thinking he was a sexy lady and compare with the number of times Droopy or Pluto managed to do the same and it’s undeniable

The Iran war should be a lesson for Keir Starmer's Government. If you take a clear line on an issue where the public agree with you then it's your opponents who end up having to back down, not you

Video appears to show U.S. cruise missile striking Iranian school compound The seven-second video was released by Iranian state media and directly contradicts statements made by President Trump, who said Iran was responsible for the strike.

The Iranian girls’ school was hit by a US tomahawk cruise missile. NPR has confirmed the footage.

I can't remember if I actually knowingly heard a Philip Glass filmscore before I picked up Glassworks on a whim having fallen into the Britannia Music Club trap as a student, but was certainly well primed in advance.

yeah, that's fair - the modern professional army is arguably the a very good example of a Hegelian synthesis - keeping those virtues of the militia and also making sure you have a core of professional soldiers to make sure they know how to actually fight.

and Machiavelli's wider work is very much 'people's militias based on Republican Roman models are clearly better than hiring expensive mercenaries' which is very much contingent on Renaissance Italian politics and was also quite comprehensively disproved in his lifetime, sadly.

I'm pretty sure that piece is at least a decade old (can't quite track down), and is certainly at least 6 years old (given Topshop went bust) it is biologically possible that she is herself a grandma
