Yeah absolutely. It's a well-built world with a rule system attached to it and I always prefer that to interesting rules with a bland world.

Then I am adding both of those to my list. I get the frustration too! I write dungeon core and people are really reductive about that genre too, so I feel it.

update: the chapter I wrote last night is almost unreadably bad but it makes for a very good world-building document so I'm fine with that. I'm going to put it in a file.

I would love some examples that don’t have the abuse/bad ending element because that’s what I want to read and write but never see.

I'm going to try and get to bed soon. I desperately need to stop this fucking scroll lock I get stuck in. If I am not writing I should be spending time with people, or watching a show, or reading a book. I can't spend all goddamn day scrolling.
