Almost ALL women had a fulltime job & a part-time (or another full-time) job too — but one of those jobs was not recognised. Until her youngests were at school, my mother of 5 made all our clothes, preserved tons of food, did all the housework incl. rearing animals, & did piecework sewing. (/1)

From NZ but same story. My great-grandmother had 8 kids, owned a women’s evening wear shop that she designed the dresses fo. When WWII destroyed her business, she pivoted to prostitution, eventually owning NZ's largest brothel. On the other hand, my mother thinks women are unsuited to politics.
