In the absence of updated rules that will come from a new CBA, the rules are based on that of previous expansion drafts. The only difference, bc of the sheer number of free agents this offseason, is you are allowed to select multiple unrestricted free agents instead of just one per expansion team.
WNBA CBA talks may be stalled but eventually it will be time for the Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo to fill out their rosters in an Expansion Draft. At @spotrac.com the team has created a WNBA Mock Expansion Draft tool so you can test out your own protections and selections!

This is an important part of the club functionally reimbursing the value of the three home games to be played in Spokane that made season tickets only good for 12 Reign home games in 2026 when purchasers thought it would be 15. There is still more to come on this front as I understand it.
Exciting news for Seattle and Reign fans, the #USWNT will play in Washington state for the first time since 2017! Lumen Field will host Japan on real grass and the match will be available as an opt-in benefit for current season ticket members and automatically included with all new memberships.
