Chris Murphy: "I Just came from a two hour, closed door classified briefing on the war. It just confirmed to me it's totally incoherent. We are not gonna be able to achieve any of our stated objectives ... this is a disaster of epic proportions, a 10 day debacle"

I still think about this a lot.
They trot out this old chestnut every time he makes a bad decision that a lot of Americans immediately see as such. “You don’t understand. It *looks* bad, but he’s playing chess!”
It’s sad how often they have to try and claim this.
I heard the audio. He said it.
Lord. What have y'all done.
Jeff Merkley: "So when JD Vance says ICE agents have absolute immunity in violating people's civil rights, he was right."
David Bier: "As the law stands, yes."

A development such as this has been a goal for HIV researchers for decades. It is important because people who are faced with difficult treatment regimens are less likely to be compliant.

Whatever happened to “no man knows the day or the hour”? Do they not read their Bible?
Seems like the media should at least express some curiosity about this.

When is someone going to investigate the real fraud in our govt? The big fraud?
Even if Drumph is forced, he’ll just plead the 5th like he does in most of his trials
“Eventually”
I will genuinely never be able to understand how people looked at his actions over the years and felt that having him and his ilk in charge again is better than having brown people as neighbors 😔
My heart weeps for what this country could be but isn’t. That ideal is what keeps me fighting.
They are all about stolen valor
The findings that come from an DNA studies fascinate me. The fact that DNA can even be extracted from ancient bones (and sometimes teeth) is amazing.

Mercury was only 50 arcminutes (0.8°) above a very young waxing crescent Moon this evening. KAS member Pete Mumbower captured this image from his home in Vicksburg, MI.
Split-image historical photograph honoring Mary Sherman Morgan (1921–2004), the pioneering American rocket fuel scientist and America's first female rocket scientist, who invented the high-energy liquid propellant Hydyne in 1957 at Rocketdyne (North American Aviation). Hydyne (a blend of unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine and diethylenetriamine) provided the critical extra thrust needed for the Jupiter-C (later renamed Juno I) rocket to successfully launch Explorer 1, the United States' first satellite, into orbit on January 31, 1958—helping the U.S. catch up in the early Space Race. On the left: A black-and-white portrait of a young Mary Sherman Morgan in the 1950s, seated at a desk in an office or lab setting. She wears cat-eye glasses, a light-colored blouse, a necklace, and a ring, smiling warmly and looking just right of the camera. She sits in front of an open book and is holding a pencil, with office equipment in the background. On the right: A dramatic color night-launch photograph of the Jupiter-C rocket (with "UE" markings visible on the body) blasting off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, in 1958. The rocket stands tall against a dark sky, illuminated by intense flames and bright exhaust plumes at liftoff, with billowing orange-white fire and smoke at the base as it ascends, symbolizing the successful orbital insertion powered by Morgan's innovative Hydyne fuel. This pairing highlights her behind-the-scenes contributions to one of the defining moments in space history (often overlooked). #MaryShermanMorgan #Hydyne #Explorer1 #WomenInSTEM #SpaceRace #NASA #WomenInScienceDay #IDWGS
Celebrating Mary Sherman Morgan--America's first female rocket scientist--on #NationalInventorsDay!
She invented the liquid fuel Hydyne in 1957. Its most famous use came on 31 Jan 1958, when a Juno I rocket powered by Hydyne launched Explorer 1, America’s first successful satellite.

I love the Callahan books. Thank you for the inspiration to re-read them; I haven’t visited those friends in awhile.

All of this 🙌🏻
Agree. I believe it’s going to get worse before it gets better. But I also believe that it WILL get better eventually.
The whole situation is just heartbreaking. I’m on friendly terms with a few of the “regulars” among the homeless in the neighborhood. One of the guys was friends w/one of the deceased. All that man has been through, and this is as the saddest I have ever seen him. Absolutely heartbreaking 💔

… we do need more substance abuse, and mental health services available, and more services to help the general population. We actually have more services than a lot of places, but we’re still scratching the surface. There is so much to be done, and hopefully this will help guide the new policies
1/2 As a New Yorker, the one thing I can say about this is that aside from being incredibly tragic, there’s no easy solution. They did open up more heat centers and more spaces for people to sleep, but you also can’t force people to take them.
That being said…
