Momma and her babies are home and happy 😭❤️ I’m so proud of her, she’s the best momma ever!

Today was the best rescue day! We came to visit @auburnvalleyhumanesociety and left with a momma and her 8 puppies, a very shy husky and a cat! Auburn Valley Humane Society has the nicest and best team, it was such a pleasure to meet all of them.
My heart is filled with so much joy today 😭❤️❤️

Shih Tzus really got screwed when they were naming breeds 😂

Meaty is all healed up from his TPLO surgeries and is feeling like a new man!!!
He is still in physical therapy and taking it slow but he is getting better and stronger every day.

But this family chose Bella’s happiness over their own heartbreak.
I’m grateful we were able to help someone locally here in Salem so Bella didn’t have to end up in a shelter.
A reminder to always lead with compassion. We never truly know what someone else may be going through. ❤️

It always breaks my heart when good people going through so much are forced to make incredibly difficult choices for the sake of their animals.

Today we welcomed Bella to The Asher House. 🐾
Her family loves her deeply, but sometimes life brings circumstances we could never prepare for. Bella’s dad is currently battling stage 4 terminal cancer, and her family simply doesn’t have the time or capacity to give this high-energy,

We must step up and be the best advocates possible for these dogs by promoting spay and neuter, by choosing adoption, and by leading with kindness instead of judgment.

Change doesn’t come from shaming people.
It comes from inspiring people.

scared and confused, not knowing what was coming. And that’s happening to dogs all over the country right now as you read this.
This is why adoption matters so much.
This is why advocacy matters.
And this is why we need compassionate voices in animal rescue.
Enough is enough.

just about the perfect dog. The heartbreaking truth is that there are so many dogs exactly like her sitting in shelters right now, and far too many are being euthanized every single day. So many dogs with no one advocating for them.

It breaks my heart to even imagine Marshmellow alone in that room

and doing everything she could to save her life. Let me be clear: Animal shelters need more people like Kathy, more people who choose courage and compassion over politics.
And let me tell you something else, Marshmallow did absolutely nothing wrong. She’s gentle, loving, and honestly

Lucky was the name the shelter gave her but we named her Marshmallow.
Just one day before she was scheduled to be euthanized, the shelter reached out. A team came together quickly to organize her transport, and I’m incredibly grateful to Kathy at Hesperia Animal Shelter for believing in this girl

A very common question I get is… have I ever been bitten by one of the dogs in the pack?
The answer is yes. Three serious bites in my life.
The truth is when you dedicate your life to working with animals, especially a lot of them, it’s not a matter of if… it’s when.
