This is essentially a vent piece, a positive one about overcoming feelings around paraphilia brought on by schizophrenia, trauma, and the communities I was involved in. There is hope. There is change. There is healing.

A reference of the five stages of infection and its effects on both a human and an anthro fox. Pulsewalker ( Sapiēns Parasitus Basidiomycete) Stages Of Infection Stage One Subject is infected with the spores while alive. They display no signs nor any symptoms of the infection outside of a slight itch in areas spores came into contact with the skin. Stage Two Upon death (of the subject/host) the spores will germinate. Early on the myconoid (the Pulsewalker) will restart the heart, though the host remains braindead. Those at this stage do not have proper control over the host’s body and movements. Stage Three Motor function improves. The Pulsewalker cannot make the host verbalize but it can write. If on a human host it will begin to morph into the animal type of their parent myconoid’s host. Sometimes this even happens to anthros. Stage Four The Pulsewalker can now make the host verbalize and speak any of the languages the parents knew. The hardened cap becomes noticeable serving as protection for the most vital of the system of mycelium. The surface of the host is almost entirely covered. Stage Five The hardened cap is fully developed at this stage. Nothing is uncovered by the Pulsewalker. If (the) host was human they are no longer identifiable as such. Pulsewalkers tend to group together and seek out further information and skills before eventually settling down. Pulsewalkers can stay on a host for a maximum of 50 years. After which they must transfer or die of hunger.
