Probably all got jobs in OFWAT.
Probably all got jobs in OFWAT.
Normally that is true but Trump is no normal president, he is a cult leader. MAGA, the cult he leads, are already starting to disintegrate & when Trump leaves the scene, that process will accelerate. Vance won't be able to hold the whole sorry mess together. That's why some are already stepping away
If Israel were to use nuclear weapons against Iran, wouldn't that send a cloud of radioactive dust across the entire region including Israel? Netanyahu's actions have already undermined the safety & of stability of Israel, nuking Iran would be the final blow to his own nation. Hubris.
Irony is, the behaviour of Netanyahu, now backed up by Trump, along with the 'settlers', is undermining the future safety, stability & viability of Israel & not strengthening it. Israel is now losing support & allies from across the planet whilst enraging enemies. This is not sustainable.
Focusing on the basics, selling stuff to customers that they want, not selling to some private equity fund, not loading themselves with masses of debt to fund shareholder payouts and not selling off their own assets & stores turns out to deliver a profit. Well, d'oh...
I guess the BBC has a death wish.
Quelle surprise. Israel has long since turned into a terrorist, thuggish state, no better than the ones it claims to oppose & very often worse than them. It is no wonder that international support for them is dropping like a stone, their behaviour is a disgrace.
The true price tag is being paid in the lives of thousands of people & the destruction of their cities, infrastructure, heritage, healthcare, the whole lot included. The financial cost to the US of this monumental folly is tiny compared to the real cost our whole planet is paying.
What a bizarre response.
It still astonishes me that, given his history & behaviour, Trump was even legally allowed to stand for election, let alone be elected. The whole planet is paying a very high price for the decision of the American people & establishment to support & elect Trump, the US included.
Note: the Straits are not in great shape: www.theguardian.com/world/live/2...
Trump has retreated into total fantasy land, buoyed up by the sycophants that he has surrounded himself with. Meanwhile, in the real world, Trump's war is a disaster in many ways: www.theguardian.com/world/live/2...
Gordon Brown is absolutely right here, I could not agree with him more. He should also have a chat with Mahmood & the Home Office about the ill treatment of children as she is proposing that children be handcuffed & deported from the UK at speed, another disgrace: www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...
Reading this was a lovely start to the day. I'm not Welsh but growing up on the Wirral meant spending a lot of time in Wales & with old fashioned TV sets, it also meant watching some Welsh language TV. We didn't understand any of it, but I still love to hear Welsh being spoken.
Yet another 'win' for the increasingly dysfunctional & disgraceful Mahmood & the Home Office. I loathe them.
...and threatening to handcuff children in order to deport them is an absolute disgrace. That shouldn't need to be said, but we are where we are......and the reality that it is a Labour government threatening to do this makes me want to puke.
Let me guess, the Home Office & Mahmood again. I understand the need to kick convicted criminals out & that if your asylum claim has failed that you may have to leave, but if the families have settled successfully then surely they should be allowed to apply to stay legally or time to plan to leave.
Netanyahu has done more than anyone else in the short history of Israel to undermine the future stability, viability & safety of Israel, all helped along by a toxic culture of 'settlers' stealing land, property & farms, sometimes violently, from their owners. Hubris.
Chile has been here before and it did not work out well for them.
No idea. l guess that if the current government does anything right, the press & media always have to find a negative for βbalanceβ!
I said up to 260 metres offshore. I didn't say every offshore wind turbine is the same height. Don't try to misquote me in order to bolster your argument about wind turbines.
The newest ones off the East Coast, Dogger Bank, are much taller, though 195m is almost twice the height of the Liver Buildings, so hardly tiny.....
It's largely been ignored in the press & media but the government is putting in huge amounts of money to help lower income families: www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
You are kidding?! The offshore wind turbines are massive. Up to 260 metres.
One of the ironies of this situation is that Trump, a big supporter of his fossil fuel buddies & promoter of coal (!) is hastening the switch to renewables worldwide.
I spend a lot of time in New Brighton on the Wirral & there's a massive wind farm in Liverpool Bay, it doesn't look anything like the scary, dominating, industrial thing you are complaining of, nor do any of the wind turbines on the land. The wind turbine footprint is tiny compared to power stations
The price thousands of people are paying is with their lives, homes, businesses, schools, places of worship, museums, everything. Not just in Iran but especially in Lebanon which Israel now feels free to carpet bomb, another disgrace to add to their list. More deaths, destruction & war crimes too.
Trump wanted an easy win like Putin when he attacked Ukraine. Both leaders have over-reached & failed. Trump is now, as far as his ego will allow him to, panicking. He, again, made assumptions that US allies would fall into line (they didn't) & the war would be quick & popular (it isn't). Hubris.
Rethink what? Use more fossil fuels & be more reliant on imports? Burn baby burn? What are we supposed to be rethinking and why.
Trump has managed to accelerate the push for renewable energy, a closer & more invigorated EU and reduced the reliance of countries around the world on the US. It's quite a feat given his opposition to all of the above & ludicrous belief he is world emperor when he's really rather stupid.
