Disabled people aren’t getting a free ride
Being chronically ill is not a vacation
It’s an unrelenting 24/7 fight to get your basic needs met. You’re forced into legislated poverty & expected to grovel for what little help the system will give
There’s nothing easy about it & we need more support
This isn’t the first time RFK Jr has been at the forefront of preventable deaths.
In Samoa, 2 children died after a nurse incorrectly added muscle relaxant to measles vaccine.
RFK Jr swooped in & preyed on the fear of parents in the region. Vaccine rates plummeted, and more than 80 children died
"Only very badly injured kids should die from being hit by cars" is not an argument for letting more kids get hit by cars.
The “covid is only a threat to the vulnerable” narrative primed the pump for the eugenics movement we’re seeing now.
It conditioned people to see the disabled & vulnerable as acceptable losses. People who were probably going to “die anyways”.
It paved the way for fascism.
No one plans to become chronically ill. It’s not something people expect will happen, in fact most folks believe they will be the exception should disability ever befall them.
They will “try harder” and overcome. They will find help where the rest of us have failed.
It doesn’t work like that.
If we can safely prevent death & disability through a vaccine like the MMR, and we CHOOSE not to, what does that say about us?
We vaccinate to protect the most vulnerable.
Kids can’t make the choice for themselves, they’re relying on the adults to protect them.
