Solidarity with Student Walkouts Organizers across the nation stand in solidarity with students who have independently organized, walked out, and exercised their First Amendment rights against authoritarianism. We recognize that representatives and school administrators view walkouts as disruptive to students' education. We argue that learning and exercising Constitutional rights is educational and that it is profoundly more disruptive to education when families live in fear due to ICE presence in our communities and their terroristic acts of kidnapping, intimidation, assault, detention, and murder of our neighbors. Protest has never been about convenience. It is about conscience. The courage of these young people gives us hope for the future.
We stand in solidarity with student walkouts against authoritarianism.
