perhaps this website attracts 38 year olds because its no problem for us to post on a forum where all the mods are huge pieces of shit that everybody hates
A screenshot of the dance in kitsune tails, with kiri dipping a shocked looking yuzu. Above them is a pull quote: "Nintendo wasn't brave enough to put lesbian fox girls in Super Mario Bros. 3" GamesRadar+
kitsune tails is 33% off on steam and itch! kitsunegames.com/kitsunetails
an award winning gay fox girl platformer sitting at overwhelmingly positive with 800 reviews on steam, in this economy? it's more likely than you think!
Buzzkill:
*burst through door* *falls over couch* *slams cartridge into console* "Someone made a survivors-like out of that Mario Paint mini-game!"
It's okay. I've yet to have a broken run that makes these kinds of games fun but the foundation is solid.

nophenia:
Pure dreamcore exploration game. Demo is very short, about 5 rooms, but with exceptional atmosphere. A chill melancholic environment to hang out in or set on a second monitor to let the vibes go as you get some work done.
store.steampowered.com/app/3979330/...
No More Pesticides:
Maintains the fishing/mining of Pesticides Not Required but replaces the rogue-lite with an incremental skill tree. It's got a lot more forward momentum but, so far, far less build variety in a typical Survivors-like.
store.steampowered.com/app/4272990/...
Horde of Distraction:
Diablo 2 except it's just the explosions. Certain skills are exceptionally strong early game such that progress gets bogged down without them. There's no way to control gear passives or use mana for now.
store.steampowered.com/app/4407700/...
This bit in the From Russia With Love game made me laugh out loud. You've got a fairly grounded, low key fight based on the one in the movie, then the most video game looking fucker of all time slides into frame.
No Vacation for an Executioner:
Expected slow RE4, got Fear and Hunger. There's a lack of polish around combat but further it seems to be disincentivized almost entirely. It's hard to differentiate between what's bad design and what's acquired taste.
store.steampowered.com/app/2949120/...
Clockwork Ambrosia:
Gun based Metroidvania with a wide variety of mods. Pixel art is beautiful, music is solid and controls are crisp. Honestly my favorite metroidvania of the fest so far.
store.steampowered.com/app/2831290/...
Jenny the Witch:
Character design and art style is great. Combat is very stiff making the gun the best means of reliable damage. It feels like they wanted to make a beat-em up but made bad souls combat instead. I do want to see where development goes though.

Sonki's Lagoon:
Graphics design is my passion ahh game. Controls are suitably loose but didn't give me trouble. With a bit of polish this is a perfectly suitable niche platformer.
store.steampowered.com/app/4369270/...
Super Meat Boy 3D:
Not much to say about this one. It's Super Meat Boy and now he's 3D. Some of the tightness in the controls is lost and the new art style will be to taste but it plays very well.
store.steampowered.com/app/3288210/...
Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege:
A classic NES-vania. It's got some competition so it'll live or die based on it's level design which already has some questionable enemy placements.
store.steampowered.com/app/3695650/...
Yuma Nest:
A single player Maple Story-like. I can see it as a very comfy game to come home and grind a bit. The demo's combat is very simple, I'd like to see more/better defensive options. Menu's need some touch-ups for controller.
store.steampowered.com/app/2900870/...
Dinoblade:
If you think this looks cool then play it. It's jank but surprisingly playable for what otherwise looks like a shit post student project. Regular enemies are fairly easy but the bosses have some hands. For the right price I'd pick this up.
store.steampowered.com/app/4106740/...
Bombun:
Fair warning the game is SFW but the creator/community is NSFW.
Throw, jump and kick bombs in a very basic but very polished platformer. I wish there was a faster movement option and hope the finished product adds more complexity/variety.
store.steampowered.com/app/3609320/...
Voidloop:
Steady incremental game about Stardew Valley-esque mining. Building up your little ghost guy to clear faster is fun. I do wish progression was a little faster though. Got to floor 15/20 of the first mine.
store.steampowered.com/app/3803180/...
Twin Peaks opening title screen with the text changed to "Check it out! This TV show is just like Alan Wake!"
MMO 98:
Cozy little incremental game. I find it difficult to understand exactly what is doing what and therefore how valuable certain upgrades are. It's kinda just a collection of numbers.
store.steampowered.com/app/3907940/...
Shift at Midnight:
Work place horror, with friends! If you like these kinds of horror games I think this games functions quite well with friends but it's nothing super interesting for now.
store.steampowered.com/app/4050060/...
Mama's Sleeping Angels:
I'll be honest, you'll know if this is for you from the trailer/themes. Most of the draw is the dreamlike visuals. Controls are simple but functional. Gameplay is exploration focused but I see the potential for horror and chaos.
store.steampowered.com/app/2918310/...
Far Far West:
An FPS Nightreign-like. π Some minor controller issues but good controls overall. Fun to play with friends and I'm a sucker for steady character growth.
store.steampowered.com/app/3819240/...
Frog Sqwad:
Physics are as physics do. Very silly but quickly becomes annoying when you want to get any actual work done. 4+ players is kinda the sweet spot and that can be hard for some groups.
store.steampowered.com/app/3989960/...
Altered Alma:
Got frustrated with this one. Was expecting more Castlevania and less Silk Song. The knife teleport is painful on controller, enemies do a lot of damage, health vials are hard to come by unless you use the knife.
store.steampowered.com/app/3119940/...
Ariana and the Elder Codex:
Level design is a bit bland and enemies are a tad tanky for how stiff the combat feels. I'll check back on this because it's just shy of what I would want from it.

Has anyone notified @kayin.moe of this y2k toxic yuri gore game yet?

Day 4 of Next Fest demos. Gonna try some metroidvanias tonight.

Eternal Carnival:
Here's a weird one. A surreal dark fantasy RPGMaker game that borrows Fear & Hunger's limb based combat system. I can't tell if it's trying to be similarly ball busting from the trailer though. Someone will be really into this.
