It is outrageous that Texas has a state holiday honoring slavery defenders who killed American Soldiers in an attempt to destroy the nation while also paying lip service to the national commemoration of the Rev Dr Martin Luther King, Jr.

It annoys me so much when this dorkass loser does his whole Foghorn Leghorn "I'm just a good ole boy from the South who don't understand these elites" schtick with that syrupy drawl he puts on.

John Kennedy is NOT from the sticks. He comes from a long line of southern elites.

This is a big no-no in armed combat.

It’s like dressing up as a doctor or a nurse and then shooting someone.

If this is proven accurate, it’s 100% a war crime.

Reps. Omar, Morrison, Craig denied entry at ICE detention facility The Minnesota congresswomen attempted to tour Whipple Federal Building. DHS says requests to visit are needed seven days in advance.

Members of Congress have the right to visit ICE facilities unannounced β€” it's their job and their constitutional responsibility.

ICE can’t hide their cruelty and mistreatment of immigrants just because they want to.

I know everyone is consumed with other news, but this is a big fucking deal: The Trump administration says that IUDs and the Pill are actually abortions.

Here's what USAID told the NYT about the $10m in birth control they plan to destroy.

I understand that ENG 360 is Children's Literature, and that's what has been reported, but she's not in the Course Schedule for 360. Instead, look at ENG 394, which does show as her course. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But that's what my search pulled up.

You can still find her syllabus, with a detailed course description, that falls within the range of the general description given in the Catalog.

"COURSE DESCRIPTION Did you read what we now call β€œyoung adult literature” as a young adult? What exactly is a young adult? Does the term refer to an age category or a marketing tool, a personality type or a genre? What differentiates adult from young adult from teenager from child? How do we understand the genre of literature for and about this blurry, shifting group? In this course, we will explore a range of young adult or YA literature in English, including poetry, contemporary fiction, graphic memoirs, historical fiction, and fantasy, from a diverse group of authors with many varied perspectives on race, gender, sexuality, disability and other realms of human difference. Our task is to think critically about what these books can tell us about how we (and others) understand adolescence, how those definitions have changed over time, and how these books participate in larger movements of history, culture, and literature."

I agree but this case is even worse: it appears that the detailed course description* explicitly mentions that it will explore how gender and sexuality are depicted in YA literature.

*As the reddit poster mentions, there's some confusion and possible misreporting of which course she's teaching.

Important to clearly counter demonstrably false bunk. Broad consensus that:

- Vaccines do NOT cause autism
- Ivermectin NOT effective against cancer, covid, etc
- COVID vaccines do NOT cause "sudden death" or "turbo cancer"

This is how the fascistic system entraps. It creates pressure to comply. It offers vague legal justification for the necessity for or appropriateness of complying.

The uni president is taking the easy way out by bowing to political pressure because they gave him an out. The law doesn’t demand this.

One day after the Supreme Court lifted the ban on racial profiling, federal agents swarmed a car in Van Nuys.

Four masked agents with guns drawn yanked people out, slammed them to the ground, and pointed a weapon at a pregnant woman.

There is no justification for this. None.

A&M Dean removed following student complaints over curriculum The Department of Justice has also acknowledged the situation and said it would be investigating.

A rightwing student at Texas A&M secretly filmed her interaction with a professor that challenged scientifically-validated concepts on trans people. The professor has been fired. The head of the department and dean have been removed. The video is pretty intentional.
