The NZ Herald article about the "Escalation Levels for Fuel Response" apparently announced in Aotearoa today suggests about 50 days supply currently held locally.
Which is better than I had feared, but not as good as I'd hoped (or IEA requirements of "90 days").

I'm sensing the Aotearoa (2024) National Fuel Plan (by NEMA/MBIE as a Civil Defence document) did not fully consider the scenario of a major *world wide* shortage.
Apparently 40-50 days fuel held locally, and rest (of 90 days) is "option to purchase" π¬

5 days maintenance might be unusual for the private sector, but it seems common in the Aotearoa Government.
IRD had a run of about 3 years where they'd have 3-10 day "systems offline" maintenance periods 1-2 times a year.
(Fairly sure IRD was using those to bulk migrate data between applications.)

How to think about Brent: Russia exports 7 million barrels of oil daily. Normally, 20 million barrels go through the Straits of Hormuz daily. So this shock is 3x what Russia's invasion of Ukraine was in 2020. But the current rise in oil prices is smaller...

This would *significantly* set these kids back from being able to enter the modern workforce, not to mention kneecap their online security/anti-scam education, and devastate a significant number of kids through social isolation. Especially at-risk kids. Cascading generational damage.
Seems like requesters choosing to make their OIA requests via a public platform ought to expect their names will be public?! π

Usually the legal solution to that problem is to keep adding exceptions as people bring them up. Potentially building in a way that, eg, the responsible Minister can add classes of exceptions.
(I assume here by "VPN" they mean what the UK means by "VPN" -- ie, makes traffic come from overseas IP.)
If the dollhouse is what you still want *two months later*, then it's by definition the "do something nice just for" you that you are required to do by those strict instructions.

Out of curiosity, are the "people wanting their name removed" the people who made the request? Or people who are mentioned in the documents released?
(In the latter case it seems like perhaps the agency releasing the documents should be redacting them more up front π€)
My work requires me to use a VPN when connecting to the work network when outside of the physical location to help protect organisational data. This is not a proposal that has had prior serious technical consideration in its development.

If anyone is friends with any Georgian air traffic controllers, buy them a nice bottle of wine. As guardians of pretty much the only narrow gap still available between Europe and Asia that avoids both Iran, the Gulf, Ukraine and Russia, they are under some substantial pressure.
Find some local friends who are also interested, and order together. The International Shipping charge is the same for 1 board or 6 boards (and I'd guess for 10 boards too).
Unfortunately Mouser (who own CrowdSupply) ship only via rapid courier, so the minimum shipping charge is non-trivial :-/

"any commercial activity" would seem to include "selling goods or services to Anthrophic". Which would be rather more wide ranging -- eg, electricity, colocation, cloud services, Internet transit, stationery, etc. Seems very "y'all have to pick a side" π

Not just allowed. They're special cased. "mopeds" (50cc and under) can be riden on a car driver's license, rather than needing a motorcycle license as for larger scooters/motorcycles.
