I had to go through shitty legacy code to understand business logic and there was no documentation, my colleagues were source of knowledge and some of them were assholes. So because of bad luck with awful projects and non-responsive colleagues Java EE didn't stick with me.
I just had a revelation. I quit Java EE in 2014 being also really bad at it. I switched to Android and it was when I started to develop in a more or less right way.
