Rough sketch for a side project, still Godzilla based, but a bit darker than critical Mass

A piece depicting Godzilla, or Perseus as he is called in story. The first panel shows him as a hatchling, born inside an Atlantean lab with a beam of light gently shining down on him. He looks towards the viewer with wide, innocent eyes. Text reads, “it’s you!” The second panel shows Percy as an adult, as he burns Atlantis to the ground. Blue and orange fire spurts from his mouth and claws, as he roars in anguish. Text reads, “despite everything…” and continues in the final panel. Percy looks to the viewer with a hopeful smile, the sunset sky in the background bathing him in calming pink light. The text concludes and says, “…it’s still you.”
