Learned quite a lot about interactions, thresholds, and synergistic effects from @ashunephro.bsky.social in this analysis of albuminuria, heart failure, and CKD progression. Our findings emphasize albuminuria as a key biomarker for CKM health. π«

Very proud of our #BMCimRes internal medicine residents for coming up with this project idea and seeing it through to publication! We looked at current statin prescribing practices for young adults in the US and their CVD risk.

Excited to share this research letter looking at albuminuria values in healthy adults! We followed IFCC guidelines for establishing references ranges, which had not previously been shown in the literature, and consider what βnormalβ should be by sex.

Very proud of this project that started as a casual conversation on #CKM syndrome with @ashunephro.bsky.social over a year ago and is now in print at #JASN! Couldnβt have done it without @ashunephro.bsky.social teaching me about cumulative incidence curves in #NHANES.

DOTβs Plan to Distribute Funding by Birth and Marriage Rates Would Leave Communities Most In Need Behind
If enacted, the new US Department of Transportation memo would prioritize funding to whiter, higher-income, more car-dependent areas over communities of color and people who walk, bike, or take public...
The US DOT says it's planning to prioritize areas with high marriage & high birth rates for funding.
Our new analysis @urbaninstitute.bsky.social shows this would disproportionately fund:
βCommunities with a higher white resident share
βLow-density areas
βHigh-income areas
βCar-dependent areas

NHANES 2021-2023 was recently released, but big changes in sampling methodology. And labs released so far donβt include a BMP or UACR! Hopefully soon?? HTN and DM prevalence pubs are out from CDC.
