I love doing this. More so now my son has hit peak eye rolling stage.
What i like about this is it's mainly companies I've never heard of. Which suggests better known brands (mostly) have got the message.
Saturday Morning:
No rush to wake up, chirrups from the street.
Out for breakfast, croissants and coffee, my boy and my wife.
Spend some fun money in the record shop, mooch around charity shops.
Home for music and chosen activities. Warmth and more coffee and my favourite people.
Perfect.
Humanists have moral and philosophical insights to share, just as religious people do. The UK is a majority non-religious country, yet the BBC refuses to give non-religious perspectives a platform. If you want to hear humanist perspectives on the BBC, sign our petition.

Maybe Leadmill was once a mainstay for medium sized bands. But it's never cared about the local scene. Compare an average month of Brudenell, or Band On The Wall, etc, to any Leadmill month in the last decade.
And for the (former) owner to now ask for funding from us? No ta, give someone else a go.
Sometimes you find yourself alone,
In a pub with too many choices,
And not enough time.
Unable to withstand the withering,
Pressure of the barman's easy smile,
Panicked decisions are made.
You wait for your mate,
Eyeing the door,
Taking questioning sips,
Of a Chocolate & Honeycomb Pastry Ale
If you support the #AssistedDyingBill, the most important thing you can currently do is sign the UK Government and Parliament petition. It's important that filibustering is called out, and that the Lords don't effectively block the bill. Sign the petition now.

The fifth richest man owns The Washington Post.
And now the sixth richest could soon take over both Paramount and Warner Bros.

Reform adopts US-style Christian Nationalist platform, pledges 'patriotic' Christian curriculum
Most of us in Britain arenβt Christian in our beliefs, practices, or identity.
The only basis for national identity in our country is around the shared values and institutions of our plural society.
Christian Nationalism is a divisive dead end.

Children who DO NOT want to pray shouldn't be forced to.
Schools should encourage independent thinking, and support every childβs right to form their own views about religion.
Forcing pupils to participate in acts of worship against their will undermines this.

The authentic voice of the working class
I like to leave a small gap
between the curtains
for the moon to peek in
and check that I'm asleep.
As the slice of sky turns
from black to ocean blue
I see three, no four, wires bounce
uncertainly.
Maybe it's the wind
or perching pigeons
or a very small circus.
I have known of this magazine for years and delighted (finally) to be a subscriber.
Amazing how different 35 year olds used to look!
This would get my vote, if pressed, for best album ever. Incredible songwriting. But so so dark.
Lovely system to keep them all involved, make sure no squad members feel under-used.
They have to be eye level, they're not crockery. 30 for 2 is a lot, unless they regularly have lots of guests... or really really hate washing up.
Found this map of street trees in Sheffield. Really handy if you see a tree you like and want to know what it is! www.andygreenwood.co.uk
I sometimes wonder, does the shopkeeper know the key role they play in this serialised saga?
I suppose any of us might have been cast, unknowingly, in other people's plays. I hope I'm not fluffing my lines.
It's the amplification bit for me (whether preachers or buskers). Sing/shout/chant anything non-offensive but do it acoustic.

A pre-dawn dance down one of Sheffield's seven
Hills hidden under a sea of soupy fog
Occasional buses bumble past then vanish
Warm from walking, coat undone and hat un-donned
Fine must swirls in an orange glow
The lights of Bramall Lane create the illusion of a western sunrise over the rooftops
The Internet:
The nutter in the corner of the pub, who everyone used to ignore, now has access to thousands of like-minded nutters ready to nod along with every vacant opinion they have.

I'm 45 and love them, I tried their brilliant live (Blackpool?) show on my 32yo wife (did not enjoy) and my 12yo son (didn't get references but liked the silliness).
