Unfortunately it is no longer sustainable for us to continue, and so we will be closing within the next two weeks. People always want to ask 'what went wrong?' - it's never just one thing, but several, and we just can't weather this storm.
We're sad to say that after 13 years on Parchment Street we will be closing. I (Cat) moved to Winchester to open this shop and I count myself very lucky to have met such a wonderful set of peoples. I'll be taking so many good memories with me and I thank everyone for trusting me to choose their wine
Last night our wine club tried this excellent Spanish Albarino at £16.70. Drink it ice cold and it's the perfect fresh, zesty glass of wine in the sunshine (come on sun!), but let it warm up a bit and it becomes a real foody treat - lush, lightly tropical fruit. An absolute winner whatever weather!

Easter red: Campo alle Comete Bolgheri £31.40, this classic Bordeaux blend wowed Cat and she's declared it the perfect Supertuscan for her lamb! Beautifully plummy character, with dashes of blackcurrant fruit and notes of chocolate. The finish has those classic ripe Bolgheri tannins.

This is the Barolo grape variety but with more generous red berry fruit. Wonderfully aromatic, with a full, ripe palate and spicy hints on the finish. Cat is a BIG fan!

We're obsessed with Sella & Mosca Vermentino £15.40. Cat fell in love with this vibrant Sardinian white a while back - lightly tropical fruit, a rounded body with a touch of sea-saltiness about it punctuated by a fresh, herbal finish. This is going to be a regular at Cat's table during summer!
