I've said this before but the Pels vets are ready to compete and the rooks are not. A lot of their early season losing was directly related to more rookie minutes and their wins now are related to those minutes declining. The front office will have to grapple with this reality
offenses struggle to keep up with him now, he's so good at that off-beat style of play, he's hard to defend bc of that
He's sneaky good at positioning for a rookie.
love reynaud. he's very disciplined for a rookie
what was that pass derozan omg. will die on the hill that paolo could play the same style & succeed
What led to Dejounte doing that:
Imma lie and say this is how the Pelicans won Game 7 of the Finals.
DDR is still so smooth with it
Pelicans beat Raptors 122-111. Good win against quality road opponent. Dejounte playing with noticeable edge this team needs. Pels 12-9 in last 21 games.
Trey Murphy: 28 PTS, 7 REB, 5 3s
Dejounte Murray: 27 PTS, 6 AST
Zion Williamson: 19 PTS, 6 REB
Herb Jones: 16 PTS, 4 3s
Yves Missi: 10 REB, 2 BLK
my favorite part is that it shows he meant treating the rest of the season serious. he came out the gate tryna kill it tonight
lots of good film from this game
I love the passion. He cooked that man, talk your shit lmao
That was the coldest thing a Pelican player has ever done since this
Really hard to overstate just how good Dejounte Murray has been. He checked into the 4th and has hunted mismatches, been disruptive defensively, and has masterfully orchestrated Pels offense
He has 22-5-5-2 in just 25 minutes
yves is neutered when he's the primary drop defender bc he can do *this*
(crossed Shead into oblivion and stuck the dagger three and then flexed on him)
I love that kind of fire from a lead guard, lmao even if it's excessive
That was disgusting Dejounte Murray, my god
djm talked his talk yeesh
Been a huge quarter for Yves Missi. Outworking the Raptors on the offensive glass and incredible deterrent on the interior
because herb was doing the primary rim protecting there, yves was able to rotate over, being an elite helper is yves' defensive superpower. zion's blessings did the rest there
if yves fixes his screening, he becomes a much more potent offensive weapon
DeAndre understands how to work with small guards, but Karlo has the best chemistry as a screener with Jeremiah by far
trey is doing everything right tonight (when he doesnβt waste a whole possession), shots are just not falling for him
I have seen a *lot* of discourse about Bam Adebayo's 83 point game and let me just say
the lead is the best friend from hannah montana
the scoring he's showing tonight is going to force the raptors hand & make them play him a bit more honestly, which will ultimately give trey a little more breathing room
Dejounte Murray is healthy and looks like he's having a lot of fun. I'm happy basketball is bringing him joy again
djm is on one tonight, yeesh
