Thanks!!!!
Thanks!!!!
Maybe one day I can make an attempt on making a video teaching artists how to move to something like CachyOS (the distro I'm using now).
I just wish there's an easier way dealing with automatic hard drive mounting and fstab. THAT was the biggest trouble I had to work with.
While Linux isn't perfect itself (sometimes too many options and compatibility issues stresses me out), it's good enough for how I work with things. Now that I'm 100% running linux, I can only adapt from there and join the push!
I'm just glad I have friends (who uses Arch btw).

I've always compare Linux to the old days of Windows Vista where I'd use the command prompt to get some stuff to work (and the tediousness of using a keygen/cracking software).
So like, it's not the first time I'd had to type things out for hours hahahh

Thing is, my morals and exhaustion got the better of me.
Like twitter, I will take action to move to another platform (or quit entirely) if it means the betterment for myself. OS's are no exception.

All of my favorite software isn't compatible with Linux.
I had to go through several hurdles to get them to work or not use them at all (I can go on a century-long rant about animation software and why I hate Adobe and ToonBoom).
I was lucky enough to FIND a good alternative to ToonBoom!

Keep on helping everyone out!
I can fully understand the difficulty though, us artists are super picky/stubborn and almost all of our niche/mainline software and tools are held hostage by developers who doesn't want to risk business by adding another OS on their list.

Oh definitely! While the results doesn't come off as appealing, it did show that my pipeline works.
Meaning I can continue any of my works while the other computer does the heavy lifting!
Only thing left is tackling my overambitious creativity that places a lot of work on my plate hahah
Super quick test with a linux setup and my personal "render farm"
HI MUTEEEE!!!!

Oh yeah, I can finally sleep peacefully.
I got CSP to (mostly) work!!! Bonus points that Tahoma2D is so much more stable on Linux too, making it a solid animation program that will definitely replace toonboom for me.
I'll start testing my pipelines this weekend!
Heya! I really appreciate the heads up and double checked if I did don' goofed, but unfortunately that's not the problem. I think the main issue is my tablet itself. Of all the Cintiqs, my specific one (Pro 24 from like a decade ago) is incompatible with the built-in drivers.
Thanks again though!!!
THIS THIS THIS IM BEGGING YOU GUYS PLEEEEEASE
I SPENT 6-8 HOURS TRYING TO RUN CSP IN BOTTLES ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT PEN PRESSURE DOESN'T WORK BC ARCH KDE DRIVERS HATES MY TABLET.
Only thing that works with it are native apps, which CSP is not.
I use Arch btw.
Does anyone know a good way to toss (totally very legal) Toon Boom onto linux? Biggest hitch I've been hitting is enabling the network server since Linux doesn't have a "services" thing similar to Windows in Wine.
If all else fails I do have backup programs, but I literally JUST got into Toonboom.
I'm glad that a bunch of my friends are getting into cardio workouts the best way possible! :>
What held me back from traditional stuff for a while was because every time I erased my lines under the inked lineart, it'd erase the ink too and lead me into some perfectionist spiral.
A lot of artists I'm studying are straight up bullshitting and showing their craft and its crazyyyy /pos
I watched a video about how comic artists ink and there was this one dude that would just take a whole ink bottle, squirt, and brushed it with no care in the world.
I was like "wtf?!" because my last piece I hand inked all the black with a dip pen alone.
Anyways here's some practices.
YOU CANT THROW A CURVEBALL LIKE THAT
Alright, now hold on there- you can't betray me like this
Ok tbf, honey on eggs don't sound half bad
Well then, I got power back sooner than expected! Yippee!!!
Look, I know I get criticisms for eating my spam raw but this? This is where I draw the line adsfsdfgasg
