I appear to be the only person in this movie theatre to see a little anime movie on a Thursday night in small-town, Brisbane, Australia.
I remember starting high school, realising comics were available from the library, then making liking Bone my entire identity (it still is, really).
It's the Brisbane Bandits, playing at the local baseball stadium. Gorgeous sunset.
And the team wins and runs into the field for hugs all 'round!
So proud of my Brisbane Bandits, playing that baseball so goodly. What a good game to be probably my last live one of the season ⚾
I really enjoyed it too! Very philosophical and just enough mystery for a good emotional story. I want to check out Erlick's new book, The Poppy Fields, too. Have to finish some of my to-read stack though 😑
It's the best book (The last murder at the end of the world), comic (Silver Surfer omnibus vol 1), game (Children of Morta), and movie (Superman) of 2025!

A small comics haul picked up from some boxing day sales 📚 I mostly want to read more Doom Patrol this year, and always love some random Aquaman stuff.
Give yourself something to look forward to next year. Something less substantial than a resolution which can carry regret if you can't stick to it. Think of a book you want to read, a genre of music you'd like to learn more about, a curiosity to chase no matter how trivial. Keep your spark lit.
