Green ceramic Christmas tree with coloured lights.
Itβs not wonderfully staged and is literally sitting on my kitchen counter, but itβs pretty, and iconicβ¦.made by my Aunt Helen back in the late 70sβ¦.and it was my motherβsβ¦and it will always bring me back to the special Christmas memories of my childhood.
Gorgeous! Now added to my own inspiration file, thanks
An article titled "Doyle excited about future of Kawartha Lakes Museum, as it sets to grow" - outlining our plans to build a 5 floor addition to our current building (including three floors of exhibit and community space, and two floors of climate-controlled storage). A photo accompanying the article is of Managing Director Barbara Doyle standing in the courtyard of the current building, where the new build will be located. We're in the news!
Today's edition of Kawartha Lakes Weekly includes this article about our exiting expansion plans! We still have a lot of work to do (and funds to raise) before we can start construction.

A photo of a very old pair of hockey skates, with rusty blades. The boot part of the skate is made of black leather. It has seventeen eyelets on each side. There is an extra strip of leather up the back. On the inside is an extra ankle support with a leather strap, which has four holes in it. The buckle is attached on the outside. Just above the buckle is a slot for the strap to go through. There is a tag with "McPhersons Lightening Hitch, patented 1903, Hockey Shoe" on it. The laces are black. The skates are size 9.5.
Hockey - is anything more quintessentially Canadian? Hockey has been an important staple in the lives of Kawartha Lakes residents for well over a hundred years.

Crochet granny squares in shades of grey, teal, gold, tan and white being stitched together to form a blanket.
My first real postβ¦ this is the task I have set myself. I will complete this king sized granny square blanket by the end of the month. It just needs piecing together and ends worked in. So many wips, so little timeβ¦.
