Can’t help but think all the institutions that rolled over for Trump in the past 14 months have some culpability in making him think he could ride roughshod over Iran.
Peter Jackson giving up movies for his real love, cleaning up World War I newsreels and Beatles concert footage, is a perfect guy-in-his-60s move. Something for us all to aspire to.
We need a complete shutdown on “No Tax On…” proposals until we can figure out what the hell is going on

If the government really is worried about Iranian sleeper cells, then it was probably a mistake to systematically reorient the majority of US counterterror resources toward arresting immigrant grandmothers and five-year-olds in bunny hats
Instead of constantly texting me for $5, the Democrats should raise money by putting these guys in a dunk tank like a middle school carnival
@oelayat Mufti Naomi Wolf has consulted the sacred texts (Google Al Overview) and issued her fatwa quote tweeting Dr. Naomi Wolf @naomirwolf I asked Al, "Can you wear a crop top for Iftar?" As Rama Duwaji is doing: Al Overview It is generally advised not to wear a crop top for Iftar. Ramadan is a time for modesty and respect, requiring covered shoulders and knees. Crop tops, which expose the midriff, are considered too revealing for traditional, public, or family Iftar gatherings. Opt for modest, loose, or flowing, comfortable clothing. It is super rude by the way, in observant Muslim norms, for the hostess to reveal her midriff at an Iftar celebration in the presence of men who are not her husband and in the presence of Mahmoud Khalil's wife, who is veiled as is far more religiously customary.
still losing it at “Mufti Naomi Wolf has consulted the sacred texts (Google Al Overview) and issued her fatwa”
THE US GOVERNMENT HAS ARRESTED HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE, AND ATTEMPTED TO DEPORT SOME, WHO WERE BRAVE ENOUGH TO PROTEST THIS GENOCIDE WHILE YOU SAT AT HOME SUCKING YOUR OWN DICK.
I’m sorry, the suffering is infinite and things are genuinely fucking dire, but it is truly hilarious that the nazis ran into the middle east while screaming “logistics and diplomacy are fake and gay” and now they’re trying to ask everyone else to fix the strait of hormuz because tfw no more THAADs

Trump did not announce a U.S. policy then walk it back. That is not what happened, and media presenting it that way does a disservice.
Trump said words he thought might appeal to his audience in the moment, with no connection to actual policy, then did that again with a different question/asker.
Things look grim in the markets right now, but at least the U.S. economy wasn’t already being propped up by a massive speculative AI bubble that is highly sensitive to rising energy costs.
