Two men who famously Understand Progressive Women come to shocking conclusion that progressive women vote for progressive things, also having material interests and ideological integrity is bad when girls do it

And its not just about losing jobs. Its about decreasing our capacity to feed ourselves here. As much as I enjoy doing a bit of freezing and canning at home, I am under no illusion that 1) it is sufficient for our own home, and 2) it could scale so that every doing it would be enough.

How much fuel does NZ have - and what happens if we run out? With the war between the US, Israel and Iran significantly disrupting global oil supplies and prices, is there a plan if it all dries up?

1) Politicians funded by corporate lobbyists support fossil fuel use, so that 2) we pollute the climate and don't invest in renewables, so that 3) compliant media write pieces saying don't worry, we've got stocks in the US(!). This is how we maintain energy insecurity.

NHS privatisation drive linked to rise in avoidable deaths, study suggests Outsourcing accelerated by Lansley's shakeup in 2012 linked to drop in care quality in landmark review

Hi hello what your article does not mention is that studies consistently show that private sector involvement in public health lead to poorer health outcomes and perhaps, as a novel idea, we should just adequately fund our public health system as a 101 requirement for a functioning democracy 🤔

The COVID abides
"Associate professor and vaccinologist Helen Petousis-Harris says there's not enough awareness of the impact of Covid-19 on overall health.
"What many people don't realise is that getting Covid repeatedly is not like building immunity, it's more like accumulating damage""

A policy for progressives to package Yet another "cost-of-living election" yields an opportunity for meaningful change

The cost-of-living crisis is different from rising inflation.

Starting with food, power, & rentals, an incoming progressive government must signal that it has finished playing nicely with supermarkets, electricity gentailers, and landlords.

Have Economists Underestimated the Cost of Climate Change? A new study suggests global warming could slash global GDP by up to 30% per degree of warming and reshape climate policy debates.

New research: "a permanent 1C increase in global temperature could reduce world GDP per capita by more than 20% in the long run, with some estimates approaching 30%." Even if it's half that bad, it's really bad...

It's genuinely shocking how quickly (some) scientists have flipped to using ai to do their literature reviews. We KNOW it's a disaster - this fairly extreme example is one of many. I'm not shocked that the journals let this stuff slip thru tho - they care only about💲
