We have had more sunshine today and it has been quite pleasant. I have nearly all my lessons for Monday. We have descriptions of a church and Lake Minnetonka to write in composition. Snow is nearly gone. Melted too much today to go skating.
I received a beautiful book from my Aunt Mattie: Young Americans in Japan and it is very interesting. It describes the adventures of an American family with a Japanese friend in Japan.
It is as disagreable as ever today. Have been skating on 9th avenue this afternoon and had quite a nice time though the ice was rather thin and rough. I am sleepy and it is time to go to bed.

Dear Journal,
I think it will be an aid to my penmanship and composition to write something each day. We are having very disagreable weather and a good deal of mud. During the past week I have tapped some of the trees in Auntie's yard and have made about a quart of good maple syrup.
From @hclib.bsky.social : Ezra Fitch Pabody (1868-1940) wrote 7 diaries between 1882 and 1890 Pabody’s diaries record many of the changes that took place during Minneapolis’s “boom town” years.
Starting March 8, 2026, this account will start posting Ezra's daily entries each day.
