Then her perception is flawed, especially from our perspective.

Simple because she cannot move beyond her own past does not mean that we should be hung up on our own.

We have accepted what is, and we will use it to shape what will be.

The dirt comes out in the wash, but the wash has not been done.

Those ‘higher ups’ are far too preoccupied with survival to be worried about legal proceedings.

There won’t be a court to try them in if there’s no one around to hold court.

Of course I disagree with what was done to us, but what can I do about it now?

Should I eliminate those that made me what I am? What purpose would that serve? Revenge? Restitution?

What’s done is done.

I do what I do in the hopes that no other person needs to do it.

It is a nuance, granted.

Her issue seems to be with our indoctrination. And if she were to actually listen to us, 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 of us didn’t go willingly.

Most of us didn’t survive what was done to us.

But I continue to fight, despite that, to save those who need it.

Is that not the same thing she does?

I see the sarcasm was lost.

She suggested ‘arresting’ instead of bloodshed. Or ‘a show of overwhelming force’

Spartans were made to BE that ‘show of overwhelming force’.

It barely worked, and even now, we are barely enough to keep humanity afloat.

Her reasons, whatever they may be, created an immediate presumption of knowledge.

Her sense of higher morality is grotesquely disproportionate.

We are not her. She is not us.

It must be nice to be able to avoid bloodshed and judge from the throne of purity.

Are we wrong?

Facing literal extinction, by an external and superior force?

I will not apologize for doing what had to be done. I will not apologize for what I am.

She’s never fought for survival a day in her life and it shows.

She huffed a little bit of a laugh, and looked towards his face.

"So much so that you probably don't even know what day it is." Kelly returned the kiss and nuzzled softly into his neck.

The 'stroke of midnight' had long since passed.

“It was fine, but it just got better.” Kelly leaned into him a little, resting there.

Kelly nudged him back, smiling.
